    Explain Magic: The Gathering

It's pretty expensive... but on the other hand, you're asking in this forum, so I'll tell you that 3.X was based largely on the card game. So you could look at it as a two-player 3.X game. You can play without continuously buying cards, of course. And it's a lot less expensive than smoking even...

Should an exalted sorcerer be allowed to heal?

I vote to let the sorc heal. But then again I've gone and put a few variations of arcane healing in my game-worlds already...

    Vampiric Weapon Quality

As far as I know that's the only thing that comes close. Not that it's really all that close, of course. But at least it's there and it's easy to see the base cost of the "life-stealing" addition to the weapon, for if you want to add it to other weapons. I've got an artefact that has...

    Mithril studded leather

How I would have ruled: I would have allowed it, first, and second I would have stated specifically that it only mitigates the difference between leather and studded leather. I would also make it only cost 1/2 the "listed" amount... or 500GP. Leather has a max dex of 6, and no armor penalty...

    Anti-aging spell

Interesting house-rule. I personally like the odd effect in the current re-incarnate of keeping all your mental skills/abilities/stats and changing physical ones. That way you get to go through the dwarf list and say "No, that's clearly mental" and "that's a social skill from being raised a...

Is Mystic Theurge a balanced P. class?

Here I have to disagree... nearly unplayable? I'd have to say completely unplayable.

Stat Generation - your wierd and wacky ways

I've played that one, and I like it (with varying amounts of odd stats allowed). I call it the "mod buy" method. The way I compare this to the "standard" point buy method is I figure out that the maximum bonus points of a certian point buy would be, and I call it roughly equal. So a 28 point buy...

    Anti-aging spell

If I were born as a human I don't think I'd want to maintain my original body. It ages too fast, making me burn through more XP over the millennia, as opposed to if I'd switched to an elf body. Or if there's something in the campaign that'd be good for a spellcaster and has a longer lifespan ...

Is Mystic Theurge a balanced P. class?

There's an excellent comparison. The Ftr6/Rog6 has gained power in many ways compared to a Ftr12 or a Rog12, the Wiz6/Clr6 has lost an incredible amount, and in no way is more powerful than a Wiz12 or a Clr12.

Is Mystic Theurge a balanced P. class?

I sense much debate on the topic... (perhaps partially because I see more than one page worth of replies). So I'm going to answer first before reading further. No. A MT is not a balanced PC. It's pretty universally (IME) considered vastly underpowered. It's flexible, and great in a cohort or...

    Anti-aging spell

It's true. In 3.X they want you to die, old age and related death is nearly unavoidable (you can become a lich...) However, there is a loophole. Reincarnation. For a scant few (one level) XP you can get an entire new lifespan! Now, base a spell on that, raise the level, and make it so that you...

    Brewing potions

Heheh. You've got to be more literal there. Sure, I'd allow someone to Disable Device the lock. Now it won't "work", and therefore won't lock OR unlock. So it's permanently locked if it was already locked, and yes you can now open the door ... ... but if it was locked you have to find some way...

    Brewing potions

Best arguement ever, one I can't fault. (Edit: The one I personally use when on that side of the arguement) Yes, I personally would allow cure light wound rings. Of course, that's a horrible slot to put it in, it goes a lot better on a belt. However I agree. Yes, using that logic everything...

    sniper shot spell question

If I were to allow RP to count for sneak attacks in such cases, I'd require the number of dice to the same, not the average, or maximum. (In other words, the *minumum* seems as important to me. 4d8 has a min of 4, 5d6 a min of 5, so you must be garunteed at least a five as well as have a max at...

    Brewing potions

No... oils and ungents are listed under craft wonderous. Now, I can accept a statement that they should go under brew potion. But lets not forget the limitations on potions, and there are several. These limitations do not apply to oils and ungents. You can have an oil of fireball. You can't have...

Well, none... I think it's a "target-self" spell. I could be wrong there (Go look it up!)

    Are Sorcerers really that bad?

This has gotten a lot of commentary, so I'm going to chip too. First I'll comment before reading anyone else's: "Are sorcerers really that bad?" Yes. Yes they are. "Are they really that much weaker than wizards?" No, not at all! They're simply different. But weaker? Quite the contrary...

I'd allow it. I can see interpretations for both ways.

OOoh, I think that the cure wounds are ungents. Gotta get the vocabulary right (in fact, actually there is jar of some sort of ointment with a cure spell in it right in the DMG, giving precedence.

Ah-hA! Can't leave that out. Very important balance wise in an item (note: not sarcasm)
