    D&D 5E (2024) How did I miss this about the Half races/ancestries

Probably not a good idea to assume everyone's as racist as... whomever the hell you meant when you posted that.

WotC may have sent the Pinkertons to a magic leakers home. Update: WotC confirms it and has a response.

Then you probably shouldn't be commenting in a discussion where morals are so important to what's going on.

D&D General D&D Manga? Who would do a great job re: art?

Ryōko Kui, who does Delicious in Dungeon, would be perfect considering that this manga basically already is a D&D manga.

D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Weapons Table Shows 'Mastery' Traits

As long as monsters have any HP, giving up damage is a bad choice. Fighters need to be able to consistently have control AND damage, making them choose one or the other is always going to slant it towards the latter because damage is going to end a fight. So, they deserve to be able to...

D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Weapons Table Shows 'Mastery' Traits

You can always just........ edit it, replace it with another effect lol

    General DCC RPG thread

I used some House Rules posited by the Gongfarmer's Almanac (whatever happened to that, btw?) and Raven Crowking, but here's big change I decided to make since I like using Theatre of the Mind: "Instead of using feet, metres, yards, or any other measurement unit for distances we're going to go...

    General DCC RPG thread

I really wanna get back to playing DCC, but work makes it so hard for me to keep a game consistently going. Nice to have this thread up, though. Here's my DCC pride, the Warrior I played in a bunch of DCC games (we played using the DCC Legacy Rules to run several modules and funnels as...

WotC So it seems D&D has picked a side on the AI art debate.

You not spending so much time writing an adventure is not a quality of life improvement, lmao. That's barely anything, that's like saying autocorrect is improving my life by saving me the effort of correcting typos. You're just saving some time on a leisure activity, it's not like how...

WotC So it seems D&D has picked a side on the AI art debate.

So callous. This AI Art thing isn't some noble "march of progress" situation. It's not improving any quality of life, for instance. And you're happy to say "oh, they can just learn another job lol" as if that doesn't take time and effort (also, consider that maybe they'd be happy selling...

Congrats on not understanding how language evolves and works, then?

What We Lose When We Eliminate Controversial Content

Good thing that's not happening then, lol. Have you seen all the shows, movies, books, games, etc. coming out today? People discussing and criticizing instances where sensitive topics are mishandled or could have been handled better aren't banning them. They're exercising their freedom of speech...

WotC So it seems D&D has picked a side on the AI art debate.

Everyone who's dunking on how the art looks is missing the point of it all. It doesn't matter that it looks goofy now, or doesn't draw hands well, because the method of creation is unethical. Is it going to be ok for it to exist once it looks better? Is that really what it all hinges upon? No.

    D&D 5E (2024) Pulse check on 1D&D excitement level

Tons of games out there take less than half the time to learn, prep for, and play than 5e so the "I don't have the time" excuse is always so weird to me. AND they come in different genres/tones too, so no need to convert existing material to fit a new type of setting, either.

It is time to forgive WOTC and get back onboard.

Why don't you let people decide if they want to do that for themselves? What do all the people trying to convince everyone to forgive and buy a giant company's products get out of it??

WotC Backs Down: Original OGL To Be Left Untouched; Whole 5E Rules Released as Creative Commons

It's really not an exaggeration when they attempted to do the bad, naughty word thing and the only reason they didn't get away with it was leaks, MASSIVE pushback, and potential financial trouble.
