Just use the vampire example given in the book. Know Vulnerabilities would tell you about Alternate Form, Damage Reduction, Fast Healing, and the ways to repel a vampire.
But it wouldn't tell you about Blood Drain, Dominate, Energy Drain, etc.
True, you could then get only get 17 out of 24 medium sized creatures (assuming that everyone is on the ground). Those 7 other zombies will be happy about that limit. Until the fighter great-cleaves through them, that is.
My big problem with the book is that there is no asterisk or note that an entry differs from its original source (other than the list of name changes).
Recitation comes to mind. It used to be +2(or 3) for attacks and saving throws for allies, and -2 for foes. Now it's +2(or 3) for attacks...

I have no problem with the rule, either. It makes sense.
I did waste a feat, but it wasn't on Divine Metamagic. It was on improved turning.
