    D&D 5E (2024) Collage of Dance Reveal

Any pro-wrestlers, in my opinion. Being charismatic and creating a dynamic spectacle, hyping up the audience so that they are inspired to cheer for you...

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's call it 5.24

I plan on referring to it as D&D. If someone asks what I'm playing, I will say D&D. If they ask what "edition" I am fine clarifying it as Revised 5E. I will never return to the 2000's-era abomination of a naming convention of "5 point-something."

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #4: "New Barbarian"

My own "Wild Heart" barbarian died at level 9 last year, but I would have loved the recent design, so that I could have worked more like BraveStarr!

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

I 100% believe you are right! What an interesting way for a dwarf couple to portray their connection! However, does this mean this particular couple might never change their beards throughout a century+ of a relationship? :)

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

Yeah, maybe they are just nomadic, or are on some other journey. But why not a picnic or pilgrimage or a vacation? The art depicts a community in good spirits traveling with children. I like that this orc community finds joy in the wild, and aren't in a city or house.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

I mean "historical" Origin-wise, in the past. Before the violent adventuring. Maybe that isn't the right word, but I hope this clarifies what I intended.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

These pieces of art depict peaceful, diverse communities of said species because the art is in the Origins section of the book, just like the Background art depicts background locations. These depict how a scene might look if such characters were all gathered together, going about their day and...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

Do you have a DM that would lock you out? Or do you often play with random DMs? I hope that the custom backgrounds will be in the SRD/Basic Rules, and will therefore be freely accessible, and the only other possible limitation to consider is that it may need a toggle in DDB, if anything. I...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

Well, the Swashbuckler still exists as an option from previous sources. And some people will choose to implement the UA version (on paper character sheets, anyway).

Maybe even on Fireball damage rolls with the way the new Heroic Inspiration works? We still don't know if the roll is for one die, or one "roll" of dice.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Feats/Backgrounds/Species

That's great for a quicksheet. But it's not necessarily a good book experience, or new player experience to inspire character concepts.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

I love how magic is very prevalent in the art. They showcase fantasy civilizations populated by magical races embracing magic as part of their structure and cultures. And it doesn't look like it is all magitech, which I appreciate.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Feats/Backgrounds/Species

Originally, yes. Orcs (and some other species) used to be creatures with light sensitivity (Orcs and Goblins being inspired by LoTR). Orcs were later reframed to be wild barbaric tribes, leaving the light sensitivity to Drow, which has now also been removed.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

I'm not playing a medieval game. I'm playing a fantasy game. With fantasy art.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Lied To Me. Gp vs Sp

In my campaign, the weight of every coin being 1/50th of a pound is taken seriously by the bankers/moneylenders. Heavier metals are smaller coins. In fact, "coin" can be considered a unit of measurement, which is 1/50th of a pound. 1cp = $1 (a 1lb. copper trade bar = $50) 1sp = $10 (a 1lb...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Lied To Me. Gp vs Sp

So any published adventure gives enough loot that either it can't be spent, or if spent, would destroy an entire city's silver-based or copper-based economy? For instance, the party opens a chest of treasure, and even one gold chalice worth 100 gold is valued as 10,000 silver in a silver...

    D&D 5E (2024) Video previews for 2024 Players Handbook begin 6/18~

I'd put them in Orc and Elf, respectively. Half-elves' abilities have way more in common with elves than humans.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Lied To Me. Gp vs Sp

Is that just factors of 100 instead of 10, so that it is 100 silver for 1 gold, and 1 million copper for 1 platinum? Do you just change the value of everything in the game?

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Lied To Me. Gp vs Sp

I don't use real-world ratios for value and availability. In my campaign, precious metals are inherently magic, and can be used to power magics that have a GP value, even if you don't have the "object" that is valued at that amount. This means there is an in-world value that is reliable and less...
