what does a CLW potion taste like in your world?

Milky-pink, with a sick minty flavor that makes your head shudder, then coats and soothes your stomach (i.e. CLW potions are just like Pepto Bismol)

Average AC and Hp of Core monsters, by CR

How about if the CR 1 and 2 data was taken from just the standard A - Z monsters, omitting the appendices for "Animal" and "Vermin"? And also only for CR 1 and 2, not any CR ½ listings. Would that help cut it down to something reasonable?

    Things to Do on Carceri...

3rd level characters in Carceri is tough, but it's still possible to insert alot of stuff they can fight and defeat. The uber-powered fiends will now fly overhead on their way to more important matters. Lets see, in Othrys & Cathrys; Phantom Fungus is a good wierd plant that's not too...

Nice info! Why were CR 1 & 2 omitted?

Dungeon #124 - Who are these guys?

Erik (or some other Paizoni) said somewhere that they deliberately made them shady characters as a change of pace, something along the lines of "these are not your momma's adventurers anymore!"

    Town in Peril...

After a raging animal trainer and cloud giants, I would go with a new angle instead of direct combat. Perhaps a few townspeople start shedding their skin, signaling the outbreak of a scary disease. Is it just a natural disease? Or a magical side effect of some local alchemist's...

    Delivering a baby

It's a DC 10 Profession (midwife) check. If you don't have the skill, your "help" is merely "flavor text" and the baby will be born naturally anyway, with all the risk that entails.

Rest it well and rest it good, otherwise the pain will linger and linger!

what other animals wold you allow a first level druid?

From the MM, I think Hyenas and Baboons are the most balanced.

    How to speak Orcish.

Good idea! Orc 1: "Zarko cabarkapa ndudi ebi zeljko rebraca?" Orc 2: "Luol deng desagana diop." Orc 1: "Primoz brezec maciej lampe?" Orc 2: "Wang zhizhi zoran planinic!" Orc Chief: "Beno udrih mengke bateer predrag drobnjak!!" (that's just straightforward list of NBA basketball players...

    Game session on film?

I'd never seen that before. Nice! I think that's exactly what this thread was looking for. Great example of a game session on film, and with those quirky post-production special effects, it's entertaining too!

    New WotC D&D Adventures?

Three are coming up; two 16 page adventures and one 32 page adventure.

    talking during combat

Because that would not be as fun, having fun is our primary goal. If a few pauses here and there make some combats last a bit longer than others, so be it, I don't want to skip the fun parts at warp-speed. We all enjoy combat. Suspense builds when we watch a player sweating over a dilemna of...

    talking during combat

The characters and the players are not the same. If Joe from Cincinnatti leaves the table to visit the bathroom, or picks at a bag of cheetos, that doesn't mean his Wizard must pee on the orc's leg or eat fried-halfling-fingers from his spell pouch. When the accountant, the nurse, and the...

    talking during combat

My view is that it's acceptable to discuss strategy right in the middle of combat because I don't expect all of my players to have the knowledge that their characters do. The characters are experts in strategy, they are heroes who have spent their lives training and fighting. I don't think Bob...

    Wizards - Too Powerful?

For any campaign where it appears the wizard (or other spellcaster) is outclassing the other PCs with more power, the DM can (and probably should) use magic items to bring the fighter up to par. Items give the non-spellcasters (like the fighter) more combat options. For example off the top of...

    WotC Stores?

I miss the WOTC store, a bright cheery place, and full of clean air! Sure beats the gloomy, dusty crypt that we call the FLGS.

    Puzzle/Riddle based modules?

Challenge of Champions (there are now 5 in the series) is the paragon of puzzle adventures. And Gorgoldand's Gauntlet is one of my favorite low-level adventures, stocked with plenty of puzzles and unique encounters. All are by Jonathan Richards, published in Dungeon magazine.
