How do i copy items from PDF's effectively?

Do you mean how do you copy in a PDF? You use the Text Select or the Image Select tool and then Edit > Copy. Do you mean what do I do with it once I copy it? You'll have to paste it into some other program to put it all together. Word, DM's Familiar, or something else.

D&D 3.x D&D 3.0/3.5 Character Sheets: What do you use?

I like the PDF sheets. My players, who don't have a full copy of Acrobat, don't. I use Mad Irishman's as well. Anybody know a PDF sheet that you can Edit/Save/Print in Acrobat Reader 7? My understanding was that Reader7 allows this but the sheet has to be created in Full 7 to begin with.

    Fantasy Grounds

I've been looking at Fantasy Grounds, Open RPG and Kloodge the last couple of weeks. I'm leaning towards Kloodge. Fantasy Grounds is very nice looking. Interface is very simple and easy to use. For me though, it lacks some advanced features I see in Kloodge. My nits with it would be: 1) The...

    Best "Virtual Tabletop" for Mac?

Online Campaigns I like the looks of Kloodge over OpenRPG. OpenRPG seems a little on the too-simple side. Kloodge seems a more advanced program that is going to have more tools for online gaming: The diceroller seemed more advanced, the battlemap can be zoomed in/out, movement on the battlemat...

How many rules gaffs do you make in a game?

Why is there no option for 0?

Virtual PnP: I want to watch.

Is anybody running a regularly scheduled virtual paper-n-pencil game? ScreenMonkey, OpenRpg, etc. If so, I'd like to sit in and watch how a game goes. You could contact me if you like or, if you're willing to take guests, maybe post here and let us know what you run, what software you're using...

    Help with Screenmonkey please

In ScreenMonkey Lite, you have to keep the mouse pressed down for the popup to stay open. Hold mouse button, navigate to what you want, let go of mouse button.

    cheating in the game design

Civ2 My gripe was with Civ2. If you accidentally left a city unprotected, the AI would always magically paradrop someone right to that city. And I never, ever caught the AI spying on a city.

    Campaign Setting Websites

Can anyone point me to some good Campaign Setting websites? I'm working on my own and want to steal some layout ideas. Campaign Setting Website: Where the world of the campaign is explained. Races/classes explained. Cosmology explained. Etc.

    Spells Database

Spell Search The Advanced Search feature in DM's Familiar can do that. The data in DMF is a Visual FoxPro table which you should be able to read in other programs if you're inclined.

Seeking a good D&D weather generator

Weather Tablesmith from Mythosa has a sample table that creates weather for you. You probably have to do some tweaking for your area, but it's free. And Tablesmith does lots more cool stuff as well.

DM Genie or DM's Familiar? Which one should I buy?

Dmf DM's Familiar is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm a little biased though. Since both products (DM Genie and DM's Familiar as you originally requested) have free demos, I think the thing to do is to download both and see which one fits with the way you want to do things, which...

Standard Stat Blocks for Tool Builders

Standard Stat Block In the early days of 3.0, someone lead an effort to have a standard stat block (Charles Greathouse?). Several publishers said they'd use it, some of them actually did. There didn't seem to be enough interest in it though and it appears to have disappeared. The website used...

    PC gaming utilities

Thanks to the SRD, there is lots and lots of software out there for 3.x D&D. I'm not familiar with the Core Rules though so I'm not sure what you're looking for. There's Character Generators: Programs that help you make a character/monster and get the math right. Combat Managers: Programs that...

DM's famillar, anyone use it? Worth it?

I use it and really like it, but I wrote it so I'm just slightly biased. :) DMF does have a free demo so you can download and try it out before buying. DM Genie and Roleplaying Master have free demos as well. Try em all, see which ones mesh with the way you play, and then decide. If you...

    Denver, CO

Looking for a couple players for an upcoming campaign: A series of mini-campaigns. These will be short story arcs of about 8 sessions or so (specifically, I'll be running the Adventure Path from Dungeon magazine). The first arc, for example, takes characters from 1st to 3rd level. Players...

    Online mapping/whiteboard software

Screenmonkey from NBos might work. It let's you upload a map, have figures, fog of war and such. For the users, they just connect to a webpage, little tech-savvy required. Haven't actually used it myself though.

    Denver, CO

I have a home game with an opening for 1 more player. Thursday nights, downtown Denver, 6:30-10:30ish. D&D 3.0, running Dungeon and other published adventures to a large degree. Looking for a player who takes an interest in the story, comes prepared, has an interesting character that contributes...
