Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the halfling rangers with two scimitars. (Can someone tell me why a scimitar isn't a Versatile weapon? :p )

Monk a striker: Why? (Forked Thread: 3rd Party Poopers)

Despite some grumbling to the contrary, WOTC seems to be trying to carry over as much of the basic traditional flavor to the new ruleset. And in my experience, the successful monk in 3E focused on staying out of toe-to-toe melee with the front-line monsters, instead zipping around the...

    OOtS: 615 It's a Real Life-Saver.

What? Didn't she just save Haley's life last comic? Man, tough crowd. :)

Can you ever have too many ways of killing people at hand, though? :D

    Rogue/Feylock

Well, you'll get Eyebite as an encounter power with the Pact Initiate (Fey) feat anyway, right? As an encounter power, but that's all the Half-Elf Dilettante ability would get you anyway ...

    A few rules questions

Nope. A character moving from 2 squares away to 1 square away provokes because he's moving out of a threatened square, specifically the one two squares away. If he shifts instead of moving, the shift doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. (It's not relevant that he's shifting into another...

Long Jump higher than High Jump?

Oh, OK. Now I know why Olympic high jumpers always take off from ten feet away from the bar. Wait--no, they don't. :erm:

    "Nearest enemy"?

If they still used the 3E rule, the Battlefield Archer's Battlefield Experience feature would really, really suck. :D

    Monsters and Multiple attacks.

Um, what? It says you gain hit points as if you'd spent a healing surge; I don't see how that applies to any other abilities or powers that trigger off healing surges actually being spent. (We now return to your regular topic.)

    Chunk of Meat

Not to mention that the character hadn't eaten any meat in, like, thirty years. I would concur with the general sentiment here--if they want to get any money for dire rats, they need live dire rats. They can be used as guard animals, breeding stock, etc. Dead dire rats have no value unless the...

    Paragon Magical Item Troubles...

Yes--even without the AV equipment, ritual materials are listed as mundane equipment with no weight in the PH. So the only thing stopping a non-1st-level PC from having a billion gold pieces worth of arcane ritual materials is the righteous wrath of the DM ...

Did the Witch King use a morning star or flail

Zombie thread! I hope the cleric can turn it, or he'll have to bludgeon it to pieces with his morning star. :)

Is it me or is death knell a crap spell?

Well, it's not like you're going to miss the attack, right? Except in unusual situations (a target with the Die Hard feat, or a Frenzied Berserker), you'll be making a touch attack against a helpless foe. Just don't roll a 1, and you should be golden.

    D&D 4E Does 4E have disarm?

Depends on circumstances, of course. My 3.5 bard pulled this off once: Round 1: close to 40', blind an enemy with glitterdust Round 2: close to 15' while drawing whip, disarm enemy, who spends the rest of the fight groping around on his hands and knees searching for his weapon The psywar's...
