Welcome aboard! A lot of people use minis and a lot of people don't. I wouold suggest picking up a starter box of Harbinger minis ($19.99) if you can find one and using the gridded map in the box along with the minis. If you like it, buy some more. If not, you're out $20, but have a map at least...

I am a player-most of the time I DM, though... Lack of commitment by some of the players almost lead to our demise... I like lower magic, grittier settings (Conan, IK, etc.)... The person who is the DM now is also the most unreliable-What happens when he doesn't show?

Get the players to Hommlet; let them interact for awhile; then start to spring the "evil most foul" upon them. Any good guy worth his salt will take it from there...And if they dont, the ToEE is a dungeon with plenty of critters, gold and magic to be had...

At this point, with Ivan on its way and another stacking up behind it, I just said to heck with it. Charley blew away most everything and the rest of them are just incredibly long rainstorms. I hope this doesn't jinx me or anything... :cool:
