School in California decides to make elementary school students wear RFIDs *Updated*

Assuming of course, that the person doing the abducting decided to leave the tag/collar/whatever on the child. :)

School in California decides to make elementary school students wear RFIDs *Updated*

And each student is assigned a partner, and all students are given a random weapon. Only one pair can win.

    Google blogger: 'I was terminated'

I didn't read all of the first page of posts, but it seems like most of them run in the vein of, "Expect to get fired for badmouthing an employer publicly." The only problem with that is, at least in the case of the Google blogger, there wasn't really any bad mouthing going on. Here are copies...

Favor to ask: Sample E-Tools Character XML

Not at the moment I don't. I'll have to wait until I get home to have access to E-Tools. So what format are you converting to (curious)?

Favor to ask: Sample E-Tools Character XML

Using XSLT? If not, that's probably the best way to go. I've made a few XSLT sheets for E-Tools character XML.

Does anyone play Dungeons and Dragons online?

IRC doesn't work nearly as well. No map, no character sheets etc. I've done both for years.

Introducing role-playing to people from other cultures and religions

You could probably teach her D&D. Just go through a regular game, and let her know to ask questions if she doesn't know what something is ("You see a vampire.", "?", "Creatures that were formerly human and have been turned into dead beings that suck blood for food.", "Righty-o."). Pictures...

Halo 2 versus Half Life 2

Halo 2 was very short and made most of the same mistakes as the first game (repetitive indoor areas, annoying enemies (read: The Flood)). That said, I think it was a very well made game, and most of it was fun (aside from the parts I hated about the first game (read: The Flood)). If you can, buy...

Does anyone play Dungeons and Dragons online?

OpenRPG is probably the best, and free too. There are some minor problems with the map, but they're easily over lookable considering how well the rest of the program works. Other apps cost around $40-60 for a "Game Master" license, and $15-30 for a "Player License". I have a group that uses...

"Mount Zogon" comic in Dungeon Magazine

Wow, that's great! My favorite comic in Dungeon/Dragon, great art style BTW. :D

How did you experience the WotC Setting Search

I wrote up a page and never managed to send it in, because I went on a trip that weekend. I don't think it would have had a chance of winning though, it didn't really stick to the staples of D&D. I didn't follow it other than that, as I was away in the Army. I didn't even know about ENWorld...

    Tablet PCs

I have no idea, as Gateway moved the arrival date for my convertible back by two weeks. However, I'd be interested to know if this is indeed the case, as that'd be a mighty useful feature. Does anyone know if the pens are inherently pressure sensitive?

    Who ELSE buys PDFs?

Currently, PDFs aren't my thing, but that may very well change if they work well on my tablet (which just had the arrival date pushed up :().

    Mind flayer tentacle arrangement?

I'd allow a good illithid. It would be evil to eat brains because it's their form of sustenance (as long as they aren't going around killing innocents for their brain supply).

    Let's talk about money.

Priceless by Earth standards. In D&D, there was no diamond monopoly (depending on setting of course).

Would you & your group roleplay on camera?

I'd do it, I don't know about either of the groups I game with, however. I would insist to have in writing that I'd be allowed to view the edited version of the film in full and disallow it to be used if I found it to be used in a mocking way. I wouldn't mind doing something like this myself...

    Home Schooling

Hellefire, I certainly hope you choose to homeschool your child(ren), it's a great opportunity to give them a proper education, instead of the poor attempt at mass baby-sitting that constitutes public schools.

Use the 3e specialization rules. Teleport is so not Conjuration.

    Home Schooling

Smart move Aaron, I commend you on actually thinking about your child's future. Many parents wouldn't bother to do that. Home schooling will save your child years of otherwise unavoidable crap. (Sorry for sounding corny...) A recommended read...
