This is absolutely what will happen. People are all so mad that it doesn't match their personal ideal of a psion, that they will all vote red. Which will kill the psion class this edition too. And this won't just be a psion thing. The same will happen for any new class which appears in UA...

Even if it's not exactly what I want, I'll be giving it mostly green, with a bit of yellow to give feedback where needed. I know how WotC UA surveys work. If there is even a hint of dislike, they will axe the entire concept for another 10+ years.

How much are we willing to bet that the anti spellcasting crowd are going to downvote everything until WotC comes to the conclusion that people don't actually want a psion, and decide to axe the idea of making a psion class.

Honestly sometimes I think just let the people who want subclass/no caster/full caster versions of those classes just have them. And make a fully new set of half-caster classes to fill those roles. That way they don't have the baggage weighing them down.

Ultimately if ranger got nuked or made a fighter subclass, that's fine. But I'd expect a primal half-caster seeker, shaman, or warden class to replace it...

It's a shame that DnD Beyond doesn't allow you to switch a classes ability scores. An Int based aberrent mind sorcerer wouldn't be a perfect psion, but it would be better than anything we currently have available. I can't see it being unbalanced either, even when you include multiclassing.

Yeah agreed. Over the years, DnD has become less and less compatible with lower magic settings.

It's weird that they seem so hellbent on making the drakenwarden obsolete. From changing the dragon sorcerer into a a dragon summoner, to copy and pasting the drakenwarden onto the fighter subclass. I suspect that we won't ever see the ranger drakenwarden get brought forward into 5.5e.
