I thought Hex got buffed when I saw it scale to 2d6 and 3d6 and I was pumped... then I saw the half caster thing and it sucks. You don't get 3rd level slots until 9th level and you don't get 5th until 17th.

I have only played in 3 publishe adventure paths... curse of strahd, frost maiden, and strixahvem and all allow for short rests. I also own Witch light and Abyss and witchlight you can pretty much rest when ever

people make it sound like no athlete ever took a few minutes to rest, drink a Gatorade and or grab a candy bar then hit it like it was new again.

again that only happens if you are chaining fights in a dungeon crawl I can imagine 2 or even 3 back to back fight, but I can also imagine a fight then an hour or tree of exploration before the next fight, and that second fight might end up with us talking it out, and that is before we trigger...

I can't remember a campaign where we went through an entire level after 3rd with it being to dangerus twice in a row... and I only carve out 1st and 2nd cause we either skip them or power through them in 1 day each. see this is unnedded snark... in a 10 hour day 3 breaks are not normalllyy 20...

it's a dumb throw back. if they were class features intsead of spells the fighter could no more do it without multi classing then they can with it being spells
