I don't know what you are talking about? That is exactly what encounter powers were?We both know it wasn't that. Some could fit that description but any didn't and they put every single thing in that category.

I have only played in 3 publishe adventure paths... curse of strahd, frost maiden, and strixahvem and all allow for short rests.I don't know what is common for groups as I can only speak from my own experience. But I can say the published adventures often have time constraints that make it such that "you can just take a short rest when you need to" wasn't a workable thing often in those adventures.
What if it was pushed to the at-will side?As long as those changes don’t make warlocks into a daily spell slot management class.
That;s both simpler and harder. Lots of choices really slows down combat, especially for new players, but even experienced ones. I like lots of choices, but then I don't always try to optimize every choice. What if it was pushed to the at-will side?
I.e. remove all slots, and have more invocations.
As a warlock fan that likes the changes... no. Just no. This whole "anyone who likes this can't be a fan" narrative is just annoying and harmful.Seriously, though, I appreciate what you wrote, but the changes are primarily for those who aren't Warlock fans. The people who like the class now (such as me) seem to be mostly against these changes.
that depends... if you make something more peopel like that's great, but taking away something I and my group likes sucks. I don't know what is wrong with people... you have likke 5 caster classes in the game and only 1 pact magic class, so taking away the 1 pact magic hurtss those of us that like pact magic.ou know what? What's wrong with broadening the appeal so that more people can become fans?
It is a bad thing to take the 1 example of short rest caster and remove it and put yet another long rest caster in it's place... long rest full and half casters are a dime a dozen.Even if this wasn't the way to do it, what exactly is wrong with trying to attract more people to the class? You speak as if this is a bad thing to do.
That’s fair. I like the term Channel Patron myself, but I admit it’s kind of at odds with the idea that the warlock’s powers might come from a variety of sources, which is an idea I’m very fond of.As long as it isn’t called channel patron, I’d support it. Warlock does not need more thematic reliance on the one patron. I’ve never even considered my spells to be from the patron.

I would prefer if they maintain at least a few higher-impact, limited-use options rather than go fully at-will. It’s nice to have the option to pull out a big, splashy move every once in a while. But those splashy moves don’t necessarily need to be tied to spell slots. What if it was pushed to the at-will side?
