Giants in the Earth style thread - nominations for subjects

Y'know, I had those, and I got rid of 'em after I was disappointed by the short stories. Sucks because apparently they're tough to find at reasonable prices now.

    From the Top

For players: PHB2 For DMs: DMG2 and Unearthed Arcana (though apparently much of it can be found online in various versions of the SRD). Manual of the Planes is quite nifty, and is a great book for DMs wanting to tweak their campaigns - the various rules for planes can be used for areas of a...

Giants in the Earth style thread - nominations for subjects

I tried readin' 'em back years ago. I kinda lost interest after the first book of short stories I read, but I think I need to go back and see if maybe another try would do the trick. I know I really dig the main premise.

Giants in the Earth style thread - nominations for subjects

Perhaps there could be a sub-forum or series of stickied threads for each particular "pantheon" of heroes/characters, in which contributions would be welcome. That is, maybe have a thread for the characters of each of the old Deities & Demigods sections - Greek, Finnish, etc. Or, perhaps there...

Giants in the Earth style thread - nominations for subjects

Interestingly enough, Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox are statted up in the really, really cool Northern Crown d20 setting. I think Johnny Appleseed is also statted in there.

    RPGs with the Best ART

I really dug the artwork for the original Al-Qadim sourcebook. It really fit the setting. Tony Szczudlo's work on Birthright was fantastic. I especially like the big battle scene on the box cover and the booklets in the box; the entire thing is on the DM screen. Plus, the art in Blood Enemies...

Giants in the Earth style thread - nominations for subjects

No clue who these are or where they're from. It would help if the source material for suggestions was cited. I don't mind getting a glimpse of characters from books/legends/myths with which I'm unfamiliar; in fact, many of the original GITE articles inspired me to look into the source material...

    Too Many Monster Manuals?

Yeah, I think the MM2 gets a bad rap. I think it has an interesting assortment of monsters, and I like it better than the FF or MM3.

    Too Many Monster Manuals?

Again, [i[why[/i] are there too many? Personally, I wouldn't care if there were 30 or 40 Monster Manuals. I'd read reviews of them to see what was in them, and I'd only buy them if they struck my interest. Besides, why would have to keep track of them? If you're happy with just one Monster...

    Too Many Monster Manuals?

By what standard are they "too numerous"? A wide range of choice is always good, and buying anything you don't want isn't mandatory.

    Giants in the Earth

You can ask him if you want (though I don't know if he had anything to do with the creation of that series of articles), but I imagine that the Bible is a more likely inspiration, since, being one of the most printed and circulated books in the world (if not THE most printed and circulated)...

    Too Many Monster Manuals?

Because not everyone has the time or inclination to create new monsters. Some like to simply play the game when they have the time to do something game related. Monster books are a perennial favorite of a lot of publishers, so they must sell at least fairly well. Look at how many monster books...

    Giants in the Earth

"Giants in the earth" is a term from the Bible, the book of Genesis.

    HackMaster: The New Edition

I can understand not wanting to just crank out anything to fill a schedule slot. Personally, I envisioned the Campaign Guide as containing info on running the campaign (or series of campaigns, really) B.A. has been running in KoDT, especially since HM was released. That is, I figured the Guide...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

For Jolly, Mark, and any of the other members of the HackMaster design team - I was curious as to how often you play the game? I know you have been focused on A&8's for quite a while, but I was wondering what you've been doing with HM lately? That is, are there any house rules, refinements...

    Is encounter books next?

We discussed that up in posts 8, 21, and 22. Anyway, I also like the idea, and would like to see more such books.

    Is encounter books next?

True. Too bad, though, because I really like BoC. A nifty little book.

    Is encounter books next?

There was the Book of Challenges for 3.0, so there is precedent for it even with this edition.

Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine

That'd be fantastic. That would work really well for me. I hope it happens. I do too. I'd love to see this, and any other compilation of HM stuff from KoDT. I'm looking forward to seeing a new HM module. Thanks for addressing my questions.

Which ENWorlder Would You Want to Meet?

Thanks for the offers. I would definitely enjoy doing all that. I've been itching to find a game since I got to San Diego.
