    Stealthy players

That doesn't really seem like a way of challenging sneaky players, it's more like a way of making their victory less meaningful. XD

So what's your favorite class - and why?

I've played a Barbarian (to 5th level), Cleric (to 4th level), Rogue (to 6th level), Fighter (only at 1st level), Ranger (to 2nd level), Paladin (to 5th level), Sorcerer (to 3rd level), Oracle (to 12th level), and Bard (in progress) so far. I've also played a Commoner to 7th level (so far). It...

    Low-levelled newbie

I'd say it's less of a "forgotten" and more of a "didn't know in the first place" (hence me asking what was up with that). It is true however that there's generally very little rolling up of new characters midway through our games.

How to fly without wings or magic

That's not flying! That's falling with style!

What knowledge check lets you identify humanoids?

I'm not so up to date on the knowledges in 3x, but Pathfinder has Knowledge (Geography) listed as the skill for identifying ethnicities and accents. I think doing it like that makes decent sense and could be carried over. So... Knowledge (Local) for any humanoids that are... Well, local...

    Stealthy players

Enemies that fail their saves against fascination just stand around watching the bard unless they're being attacked already, or if a combat is happening nearby. They don't actually focus attacks on her because they stop attacking. They end up stuck watching her while the ninja goes off...

    Stealthy players

...And I've just learned a new way to give a group like mine challenge, courtesy of my own GM. As it turns out, forcing our group into a big direct combat scenario where we have to take on all our enemies at once makes things very difficult. It's hard to sneak up on a big group of enemies that...

    Stealthy players

Actually just noticed this line from your first post. All I can say is yes, definitely. Our first attempt at stealth, despite synergy, involved three nat 1s and us tripping over each other onto the bed of a sleeping drow. Certainly an interesting situation.

    Stealthy players

Stealth Synergy reverses that though. When we stealth together, we all share the result of whoever rolled best, so in fact the party is even more competent when working as a team. (As an example, we've had both the Ninja and Bard botch on the same stealth roll, but we still had a third die to...

    Stealthy players

How do you deal with players who are simply TOO good at being stealthy? Our party handled our 1st level dungeon with incredible ease, barely taking any hits the whole time, and we've gone up a member since then. To be honest I'm glad I'm playing in this group and not running it, because I'm not...

    Low-levelled newbie

Added some clarification to the OP. He's not new to Pathfinder itself, as some people seem to have assumed. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Meh, well, it was mostly just a hope. It wouldn't be fair to force him into a role just because none of us took it after all. He seems to be going for an Alchemist.

I gave her magic missile, a 0th level ray spell (or something... Forget which spell exactly), and a bow so I could at least shoot things from behind the people who were doing actual, useful things, and I put ranks in whatever few skills nobody in the party had. She made it almost to the end of...

    Low-levelled newbie

Yeah, that happened to a sorcerer of mine. Not enjoyable. Meh, well, one level lower isn't that much of an issue but why bother with that difference anyways. At least in a case where probably none of the other players care if the newbie's levels weren't "earned".

    Low-levelled newbie

We're fourth level, might possibly hit fifth before getting a chance to recruit. The biggest reason for the new guy is the in-game loss of our party's commander (actually happened a while ago back at 1st level), an NPC leader who directed us on the jobs we took. He didn't really do much, and...

    Low-levelled newbie

Dykstrav: Fair enough. I can see that making sense for a bigger group. As a party of three, we don't have irregular players. If someone can't make a session, we don't have a session. So nobody's ever really sitting out of anything, nobody really just sits there rolling dice on their turn, and...

    Low-levelled newbie

Our current (Pathfinder) game looks like we may be getting a new member soon, thus bringing our party from 3 members to 4, and (hopefully) giving us a proper healer or frontline fighter. The GM seems to be toying with the idea of bringing in the new guy a level lower than the current members of...

I wouldn't be surprised if both happen. A Malack vs. Durkon followed by a Malack vs. Nale later on I mean.

I have only one word to say about the new Linear Guild: YES!

That's what I was thinking too. At the moment I'm hoping that that's merely what his intentions look like, and it's actually all part of some other secret plan.
