    Why No Lost?

I don't believe she's been detailed much beyond being one of Ben's allies off-island. Well, Faraday's not afraid to play loose with the truth, so take what he says with a grain of salt. Assuming that what he said IS true, however, he also said that Desmond is a special individual, in that the...

    Why No Lost?

And how about his response when Jack asks him how he can read right before they re-enact the crash? "My mother taught me." Um, Ben--your mother died giving birth to you. Even his snappy one-liners are loaded with lies. I'm pretty sure Mrs. Hawking called the letter Locke's "suicide note."...

    Why No Lost?

It's possible that the Temple is quite close to the Orchid Station--remember Ben using a mirror to signal someone on a mountaintop as he, Locke, and Hurley got close to the Orchid at the end of last season? And we know that the remaining Others had taken refuge in the Temple by then. So Jin...

    Why No Lost?

Man, I really hate time travel. That being said, here are some of the things I'm looking to find answers to: 1) How are the time jumps affecting Cindy (the 815 flight attendant turned Other), the kids, and the other Tailies taken off the beach? They've been on the island the same amount of...

    D&D III movie trailer

OK, I'm too lazy to read through the whole thread so I'm just gonna ask it: Did anyone else think that the lead hero/singer looked like the love child of Ben Stiller and Legalos of LotR fame? *^ * Legalos was a chick, right? ^ And I'm by no means trying to impugn the fine body of work that...

So what's your favourite beer? (Forked Thread)

Oooh...I like to make Black & Sam's around the holidays (like a Black & Tan, only with basic Sam Adams Boston Lager at the bottom and Guinness draft on top...poured in slowly over the back of a spoon). I haven't tried the widgets. Even with ketchup. In fact, the thought of ketchup in a beer...

    D&D Compendium not allowing access?

Weird. It seems to be working for me.

TSR Example from the worst TSR adventure module(s) ever published

I know, I know. In fact, I got an email from Carl Smith about that. It went something like this: Dear Mr./Ms./Count Demmero, I saw your attempt at game design on the message boards of EN World and offer you some free advice from a true pro. If you were hoping to be joking loudly, you...

Promises, promises...what WotC said, and actually did, with 4E

Another thing I can think of off the top of my head is 4E updates for some of the final 3.5 books (Like Exemplars of Evil).

How Would You Make a D&D Movie?

Have the D&D characters in the movie be pirtates and then promote the movie as "Lord of the Rings Meets Pirates of the Caribbean!" Instant blockbuster!

    Pirates vs. Ninjas

You're probably right, but.... I'm gonna say pirates. They have ships and cannons, and I'm not sure that ninjas can swim. And if they DO swim, their tight black pajamas will make them look like seals, resulting in mistaken-identity shark attacks as they try to swim up to the pirates ships...

    Pirate on Jeopardy!

Not really; he seemed pretty smart for a pirate--smarter than me. He talked a bit about the pirate gig when Alex Trebeck interviewed each player, but he never actually talked like a pirate (I was hoping he might utter a salty curse or two after missing a question, but he was really...

    Pirate on Jeopardy!

Anyone else catch John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur (of International Talk Like a Pirate Day fame) on Jeopardy last night? He seemed unusually nice for a pirate and talked and dressed kinda normal. He did pretty good in the game before botching his Final Jeopardy answer and finishing last (although I...

    Oots #569

Anyone else reminded of a scene from "Team America: World Police?" Loved Roy's line at the end :)

Paralyzing an Undead: [Never Mind - Answered!]

Thanks Incenjucar! I've actually since answered my own question--undead are also immune to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless--neither of which applies to an archon's trumpet blast). So...immune it is!!

Paralyzing an Undead: [Never Mind - Answered!]

In the Monster Manual appendix, the Undead listing states that undead universally are immune to paralysis. So.... ...What happens when an undead meets a Trumpet Archon (MM/18) that blows its trumpet? That entry states that "All creatures except archons within 100 feet of the blast must...

    Amazon out of Gift Set!

I feel strangely compelled to cancel my gift set and buy...I dunno...some new Nike shoes or something. [Edit: With all the spam gone, the joke's no longer amusing...in case it ever was. Good job mods dealing with that so early on a Sunday morning.]

    Amazon Orphans unite!

I'm pretty pissed off to have gotten a delay notice from Amazon for the gift set (which I ordered 4 months ago), but I think we may be fingering the wrong culprit. All the major online sellers seem to have the PHB in stock currently (buy.com says "ships in 1-2 days). It looks like individual...

Dungeon 154 - Night of the Straw Men

Agreed. Wish I could take credit for it.... ;) The idea for the holiday itself first appeared in a D&D Mystara product (I'm guessing Gaz 1, The Grand Duchy of Karameikos by Aaron Allston; I know it also appeared in one or more of the Poor Wizard's Almanac books as well). My contribution...

Dungeon 154 - Night of the Straw Men

@Shroomy: Thanks for getting the word out (I wrote "NotSM"). With Boz and Shade responsible for the Dragon magazine conversion of the boss monster--and with you having your own adventure due out soon--the final 3.5 issue of Dungeon's got a neat ENWorld vibe to it :) @GlassJaw: Thanks for...
