So is an 18-year-old elf in diapers?

Which takes about 80 years. The best way to house train them is to put them in the woods. That way, they're in the normal environment, and if they do go--you just rake it over with a little dirt. Seriously though, elves are not stupid. It's just that their culture is different. Elves not...

    Open Worlds vs. Closed Worlds

Wide open IMC, planar travel is commonplace at the higher levels. And this is set in the Forgotten Realms. I have one character playing a Mul from Darksun and another playing a rogue from a plane that she's currently writing a short story about. I've read the story, liked the plane, and...

    xp for this encounter

Rat Bastich DM'ing :] Being a RBDM, I wouldn't have given them any xp. They really didn't do anything to earn it. But at the same time, I probably would have done as Thanee suggested. I would have roll played their parts in the battle and given XP commensurate with their accomplishments...

    MUST SEE! D&D related

I THOUGHT THAT WAS HIM! What's really funny is the fact that Prince Valiant is the one to come and lead her to Christ. Do you also notice the number of demon's leaving her as she prays?

    MUST SEE! D&D related

AD&D Well, I never got to play the original Dark Dungeons. I only played Advanced Dark Dungeons. That is until I was introduced to Hackmaster. Now there's a real roleplayer's game.

    MUST SEE! D&D related

She was playing the Mystic Theurge Kit that was only released to members of the Temple of Diana. You had to have a membership card to get it. (My mom was a member, so I got it for my 7th birthday.) It was a really great kit. WAY over powered: fighter's THAC0, and spell casting abilites of a...

Which FR Regional Suppliment would you like to see most?

The Heartlands I know that they are the most extensively covered in the FRCS, but these are my favorite regions to game in. The Heartlands has all the elements necessary to play a classic Dungeons & Dragons campaign. That's why I love it.

What are people doing with the epic handbook?

The Vault of the Ages I'm starting an adventure Wednesday that I plan to take from 15th through 30th levels. Though I've not used the ELH yet, I've spent the past 2 months studying it for when the characters actually get to use it. Overall, I think it is a very interesting book. I enjoy...

Why we love D&D but hate d20

Don't Troll's have regeneration? Kae, I offer my applause and thanks. But combatting a Troll is pointless unless you're doing it with fire or acid. Leave the genius be. You're just encouraging him. Besides, my hate of d02 know limit. =-) Sparxmith Edited to conform to Piratecat's...

    d20 or Bust?

My hate of d02 know no limit! As a convert to d20 from d02, let my just say: I love d20. If you think the levl sytem is bad in D&D, try d02. It fails in just about every aspect of a game, and it is more of a rule playign game than role playing game. Frist off it is way to liniar. You just get...

Why Wizards are better than Sorcerers, and other stories

Sorcerors? Suck! I'd rather play a Bard--at least then I could wear armour and wield a Rapier. Wizards? Suck! I'd rather play a Sorceror. Halflings? Halflings suck because the get a reduced damage progression as unarmed monks (And actually their weapons too.). You guys must be blondes...

Why Wizards are better than Sorcerers, and other stories

Sounds to me you just need to learn that DM'ing isn't about Players VS. DM. Also sounds to me like you're afraid that the Monk is more powerful then the DM! BECAUSE MONKS ARE THE PENULTIMATE POWER IN THE WORLD!!! Just teasin', Sparxmith

Why Wizards are better than Sorcerers, and other stories

Monks are better than sorcerors or wizards Monks can womp the hello out of a sorceror or a wizard. Especially when the wizard loses his spell book and the sorceror only knows magic missile, mage armor, and sleep. HOWEVER, a Sorceror with the Vow of Poverty is almost as powerful as the...

Why Wizards are better than Sorcerers, and other stories

Monks are still the greatest! Gnomes suck because they get less unarmed damage as monks. And, btw, a necromancer is cool, especially a charred necromancer who decided to argue with the pyromancer so the pyromaniac lit him up with a fireball. Then the rogue snuck (or is it sneaked?) up behind...

Why Wizards are better than Sorcerers, and other stories

The monk is PHB Well, Monks ARE in the PHB, but I'll admith they're still munchkin. Thats why they're THE GREATEST POWER IN THE WORLD. Especially if you use the Book of Exalted Deeds. Sparxmith

Why Wizards are better than Sorcerers, and other stories

Monks are the best! Play a human monk with a Sacred Vow and a Vow of Poverty. At 15th level you get +6/+4/+2 to the three stats of your choice, +9 to AC (which doesn't take into account the monk bonuses or wis bonus), +4 resistance bonus to saves (which is really awesome considering the monk...

How many combat encounters per session?

3-4 In the campaign I'm playing, RttToEE, we average 3-4 per 6 hour session. It's been fun. Then last session, we managed to find an area we weren't supposed to get to yet, (I'm meta-gaming here) and we didn't have a single combat encounter. We were to busy trying to escape from a beholder...

    Confessions of a Lame Player

lean against the wall This is what I did to fix that problem in one of my players. I made him lean his chair back against the wall. Everytime he'd tell his jokes, i'd laugh and say, "Now, that's not what the character would say." And he'd have to bang his head against the wall. After...
