An additional note about my setting:
While Shaman's are part of the primal powersource I didn't use them or Barbarians in my "Druidic society" for two reasons.
1) The Elvish influences in Druidic society colour the classes used. The mechanics and flavour of the Shaman and Barbarian classes do...
I don't really like the current description of the Primal Powersource so I'm ignoring it. Druids in my setting have a religious function, although with spirits and elements rather then Gods. And as I'll explain later the typical DnD Cleric is quite impossible in Druidic society.
I shall...
Hmm, the 2 worst things about DDI is that to get the most use out of it you need a laptop and everythings digital
While I don't want to start a whole discussion on the pro's and con's of it (since most people have simply made their decisions on the matter already) I really do like to have...
In 3ed if you were in the average human city there were Clerics available for healing. If you were deeply injured they were your best chance (if you could afford it)
If you lived in a Druidic society somewhere in the woods I assume that Druids would be the best healers. While they don't have...
4 words: Witch Elves from Warhammer.
1) They're savage creatures who eat the hearts of their fellow Dark Elves
2) They frenzy, hard. It's like Raging but probably even better
3) It makes Elves different from the stereotypical Elves which is nice.
4) They drink wine made from poisonous herbs...
Rulers. I would love to see different kind of rulers because my setting is filled with small nations and I'm so tired of the old King and Queen thing. More priest kings and whatever you can come up with.
Thanks for the suggestion (although I'm not adding MORE races in. 10 races is MORE then enough)
Maybe I can take the Dragonborn out.... nobodies chosen them and they bore me to tears.
I created some deities because I believed they were fun and build the rest because they were needed (for example someone wanted a War God) or because there should be one there logically.
It's strange that no matter what racial bonuses I try, I can't seem to get to 22 point buy. Strength/Dex comes up to 20, which is two points short.
Not that that says much, since Str/Wis seems to come 1 short as well.
I agree that it's a bit strange to use the economy of actions so strictly with summoning powers while you have powers like "Twin Strike".
If the point of economy of actions is to not give one player more actions then the other then having Twin Strike and AoE powers (especially at-will varients)...
I haven't watched that movie in years (something I should correct). I was actually thinking of my uncles Chi Kung books.
On this subject I remember an issue of the Initiates where the Taskmaster defeated two people with super growth powers by hitting them both in a certain place making them...
They're rough, tough and don't care a Gnomes nose about what other people think about it. And they have an inbuilt way of solving problems. Bash them.
They're not my favourite either but that's why I don't play them.
Good LORD I hate the racial descriptions from the PHBs. They sounded a lot better in the preview.
I'm also still not a fan of the art in the PHB, I think I'll keep the image from the MM for Gnomes which is slightly better. Not to mention far better dressed.
There are a few factors to remember.
I recall that having a lower center of gravity is actually better for certain martial arts.
Halflings are pound for pound stronger then humans.
Monks probably hit weak spots, pressure points and use nerve pinches.
And most of all Monks use Ki when they...
Hmm, I don't remember the Shaman getting Con to his AC.. so perhaps the rule doesn't count for all Primal characters.
Which is rather sad for Protector Shaman.
