Player issue - help with a rogue

Have the rogue multi-class with some fighter, then let the PC repick their feats. What does the rogue's character sheet look like? A 7th level optimized melee rogue is SCARY in combat. Fighter 2/Rogue X will add some needed feats and some BAB and HD. Rogue 3/Swashbuckler X with "Daring...

Monte Cooks WoD is for 3.5

I'm in. Way in. The only thing keeping me from playing WoD is the clunky d10 system. It makes doing anything a drag, and slows down interaction a great deal when rolls are involved. I think this is huge for people who enjoy both genres, but enjoy the quicker pace of d20.

    The Alignment Game

Neutral. He's too stupid to actually pick an alignment. He's too random to be lawful. He's to predictable to be chaotic. If it weren't for Marge, he'd be arrested by now. Ok, how about... Garfield

    Soulknife as a PrC (1.0)

Technik, this is Nicholas from your group. You've done a lot of work here! You've also been hit pretty hard by some critics! I'll send you an email in a bit, but let me weigh in on this idea since I'll likely be encountering this at some point. 1. I agree that the Soulknife Base Class is...

    Have more fun with powergaming

I'll just regurgitate what someone else wrote on another forum. 1. DnD without Roleplaying = Computer Games Pros: More Objective in outcome, works as an intellectual exercise, draws players that are fond of "Strategy Games". 2. DnD without Optimization = Amateur Drama Pros: More Subjective...

Eberron- What do Aberrant Dragonmarks look like?

The subject line says it all. I've read the descriptions of Aberrant Dragonmarks, and I've seen what Normal Dragonmarks look like...but I'm not artistic in the least, so creating a visual out of the vague descriptions in the campaign setting is difficult for me. Does anyone have a picture of...

    The Feeding of Giants

I can see Rock/Stone Giants eating raw earth or even precious metals, as their appearance is decidedly "Earthy". http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/giant.htm#stoneGiant For Hill Giants, though, I prefer the old fashioned cannibal method. Like the Morlocks from "The Time Machine", they raid...

What's your alignment in real life?

Alright, some of you asked for it... :D ((I suppose no one picked up on how ridiculously Lawful it was for me to go off on a preachy diatribe, did they?))

What's your alignment in real life?

My wife and I have this discussion a lot, and I am undeniably LAWFUL in the extreme. -I like routine and hate spontaneity. Nothing pisses me off more than someone "Popping in" unannounced. -I firmly believe that laws (in the US, at least) were created by people far more intelligent than I...

How is the warlock not overpowered?

"If you think like a hammer, then everything starts to look like a nail." -Abraham Lincoln Warlocks are the quintessential "Hammer". They are, in most primal form, the worst type of "One Trick Pony". Imagine playing a wizard, then being told that the only spells you can cast are Magic Missle...

[Bo9S] Notes on swordsage in play

After looking at your statblock, I'm both amazed and very pleased. Let me explain. After reading through your posts, I was continually impressed with what appeared to be very meaty and substantial numbers and results during combat. I immediately assumed that you munchkined the hell out of...

    Bloodline Rules in your Game?

I've stared at the bloodline options in UA for a long time...and no matter how you slice it, Bloodlines < Levels OR Feats. If you want to use bloodlines and force your PCs to give up levels or feats, please give the abilities equivalent benefits. Increase the stat bonuses by +1 (to give an...

    Best Humanoid race for Hexblade

From an optimization standpoint, Hexblades are good for one of two things. 1. A three level dip for Arcane Resistance and Mettle. 2. Single classed ONLY far enough to get an Improved Familiar (Worg) and create a mounted charging character. Therefore, you need to look at what you want the PC...

    No AoO?

A lack of AoO would make Mobility and Tumble nigh useless, and cripple a host of other feats and class abilities as well.

Why can't PRC's do the opposite? Maybe that's why they touch a nerve.

All the base classes are designed to be "Generalists". A "Generalist" can do a number of things moderately well, but nothing extraordinarily well. They are the "Swiss Army Knife" of classes...when you aren't sure what you want your PC to do, play a Base Class. A Prestige Class is a...

[Bo9S] Notes on swordsage in play

I just wanted to pop in and express my gratitude for the very detailed explanation of a Swordsage in play. I've been dying to play one, but haven't found a game yet that allows ToB. Rather than simply say, "They suck" or "They rock", you've given extremely detailed descriptions of how you've...

    D&D 3.x Monk 3.5

Another fun Monk build focuses on being a stat drainer. Monk 6/Tattooed Monk 3/anything else (Swordsage Works well) Feats: Rattlesnake Strike, Extra Stunning, Weakening Strike, and Rapid Stunning (x2) The idea is to stack Rattlesnake Strike with the Spider Tattoo and drain 3-5 points of...

    A Potent Hexblade

Lately I've been obsessing over Hexblade/Wildplains Outrider builds that utilize Improved Familiar and Practiced Spellcaster to get a Winter Wolf familiar mount. Since your Winter Wolf has your BAB and HP, you end up with a PC level mount that can attack while you charge for triple lance damage...
