Critical Role Critical Role’s 7-hour Campaign Finale

Lol yes, that was a while ago. I'm all caught up, I'm just not usually able to catch them live.

    D&D 5E (2014) One-Eyed Jax: A Forgotten Realms Adventure

I've kind of fallen out of love with RAS' books, but Jarlaxle is always fun.

Critical Role Critical Role’s 7-hour Campaign Finale

I haven't been able to catch the episodes live lately, anyway, so I'll probably do what I have been doing: watch the 7-hr episode in bits and pieces lol. I hope they stick with D&D--and I think they will, as that is what their main campaigns are known for.

    D&D 5E (2014) celebrating pride and lgbtq+ players 2021

Corellon is the best known for being genderfluid, but really all the Seldarine are. For instance, in Cormanthyr, there are statues of the members of the Seldarine in both their male and female forms. This is another reason I miss the FR novel line: we were starting to see more LGBTQ+...

    D&D General Critical Role Ending

I became a critter when the pandemic started. I'm not a "hardcore" critter, but I do enjoy it. But I have so many questions lol! Maybe some of them will be answered in the post-campaign Talks. Here's the thing though--yes, it's a D&D game, yes, some loose threads are expected, and yes...

    D&D 5E (2014) Possible Drow Sourcebook?

So...I have a lot of opinions about these developments lol (and no, I'm not complaining about their attempts to diversify the drow). It just seems like they're completely ignoring the foundation of what is already there.

D&D General What is your favorite D&D cosmology?

I liked both the Great Wheel and World Tree.

D&D Movie/TV Is the D&D TV Show Based On Drizzt?

As for diversifying the drow...if they actually looked at the lore, they would see they already have a foundation to do this--Eilistraeens and Vhaeraunites. But instead, it sounds like they're writing an entire new subset. I'm definitely not against diversifying drow, but I am tired of seeing...

D&D General Benedict Cumberbatch Narrates A Drizzt Short [Updated]

I could make a long comment about all the feelings I have about this, and why I have them, but I don't want to make it seem like I am constantly ranting, so...I shall refain.

D&D 5E (2014) Has the culture of campaigns change, re: homebrew vs. pre-published?

I actually think WotC is leaning more towards the "make it your" own approach. I would love to see an FR settings books, but source books these days feel sparse on detail--or they change lore on a dime. I think WotC has taken the "make it your own" approach farther than they have done...

D&D General Do players even like the risk of death?

Only if there is an established afterlife lol. Character deaths are painful.

D&D General Some thoughts on Moral Philosophies in D&D

Lol at the risk of derailing the topic again, I had to comment, as an elf and afterlife fan. I realize this is probably meant in good humor, but having a spirit I believe means you can be reincarnated. The pull of Arvandor for elves is very strong, and is a reward, but elves also believe that...

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D Does That is So Good: A Celebration of 5e's Advantages

2a) I kind of feeling like they aren't really mining for lore though. They're just kind of handwaving, or changing things on a dime with no explanation, ignoring the gold mines, even when looking through the lore could actually help them with the current lore and what they want to bring forward.

D&D General Do you care about lore?

Yes--probably more than I should heh. Lore will draw me to a setting. I get invested. It's the same fascination with any fantasy series. When we read fantasy novels or watch a show, we learn how that world works. Sure, authors can surprise us with revelations and twist, but suddenly saying, "Jk...

D&D General When did D&D gods first rely on their worshipers?

Late as usual, but as a personal fan of deities in fantasy, I find this an interesting conundrum. In some cases, deities existed before their worshipers--indeed, many created their worshipers. In FR, I thought the need for worship to gain power was a post-ToT thing, but someone else here pointed...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D in the Grishaverse

I read all the books a few years ago. I adored the Six of Crows duology (which the Netflix series has kind of blended in with S&B). Considering it's fantasy and so is D&D...

    [Netflix] Shadow & Bones

Likely heh. The show is quite different from the books in a number of ways. I would actually recommend reading Six of Crows first, as it is more likely to get you invested.

    D&D General [+] Racially-Discriminating Afterlife Systems

Maybe the elf persuades their non-elven loved one(s) to follow the Seldarine :P Elves almost always go to Arvandor, but a non-elf could still end up there if they followed the Seldarine. As you said, the gods probably would have to hash it out individually in certain circumstances.

    [Netflix] Shadow & Bones

YA really does get an unfair rep. I read both YA and adult fantasy. I read adult fantasy as a teenager, as well. Lately, I've actually been reading a lot of YA.

    D&D 5E (2014) Second Sundering: Returned Deities?

There were glimpses of what the Eilistraeens were up to in Death Masks. It wasn't much, but from the sound of things, she has retained her followers. I'm going to assume the same is true for Vhaeraun--and there was a chosen of Vhaeraun in The Adversary. According to Ed Greenwood, Eilistraee...
