Folks selling painted miniatures at GenCon?

THunder Mountain almost always has painted minis for sale at their booth. I don't know if they still do it but they used to have a guy right at the booth who would paint minis for you on request while you roamed the hall. I

Ha! I've got Aces & Eights!

We're on the same sheet of music then GV. We could only cram so much into the core rule book so we had to make some tough choices as far as what to include and what should be pushed off to supplements. We have 'plans' for supplemental material that covers everythign you mentioned and more...

Dragon Appreciation: Which are your favorite Dragon comic series?

Aaaah, Fineous. My favorite. J.D. Webster was a great inspriation to me. I'd love to see the strips from Adventure Magazine compiled with the oiriginal Treasure and reprinted. We were hoping to do it with J.D. but the legals/rights are a bit blurred.

Ha! I've got Aces & Eights!

Thanks. A lot of work went into selecting the artwork for the book. In the case of A&8 we felt the art was extremely important in helping to set the tone for the book. You can't get any more authentic then Remington/Russell. With the possible exception of Elmore I can't think of many...

Who will take up the Printed Game Magazine challenge?

You could be right. Hey I'm not going to complain. ;) I guess what I shoudl have said is that was have no plans to make KODT a 'd20 mag'. We like the current formula of 10 to 15% content on in-house product and the rest general interest. Be it generic, d20, or any other system. Last three...

Who will take up the Printed Game Magazine challenge?

Getting on newstand/bookstores isn't all that difficult. you just call a newstand agent (We used Warner for Shadis back in the day) and they'll pretty much do a trial run and put you in as many stores as you'll provide copies. The tricky part is YOU take all the risk. And it takes up to six...

    Buzz on Aces and Eights?

I think some people assume that at first glance (i.e just looking at the fact there's an overlay and a siloueete involved). but the mechanic is actually quite different. The difference in approach is obvious once you've seen it used in A&8.

    Favorite Issue of Dragon

Looks like it was Dragon 116. 116 5 3-D sailing ship insert. First photo cover. Although I'm not sure the Dragon Cd includes the inserts. I know the Combat Wheel wasn't.

    Take the HackMaster Challenge

The Critical Hit charts/system is actually a very cool part of the game. Most groups I'm aware of use it. It's nice to know you just shattered the hip of that Ogre you're fighting and goes down. ;) As for all the rules and subsets -- it's like AD&D. Depends on the group. Does everyone use...

    Favorite Issue of Dragon

My favorite has to the issue from the 1980's (don't know the ish number) that had the Ocean Going adventure theme. Had the Ship Model inserted in it you could cut out and built. I must have purchased a half dozen copies of that issue to build a fleet for the campaign I was running at the time...
