Monster Manual 2 and Elite/Solo design

Yeah, the deal was the damage was too low, thus the hydra wasn't threatening. I don't mean to bash the designers, I know this stuff is hard and it's unrealistic to get it perfect the first. I just think if they know something is wrong, fix it! I don't care if there's a page of errata for every...

Monster Manual 2 and Elite/Solo design

I'm sitting here listening to the new D&D podcast, one of the designers admits the MM1 hydra is broken as a solo, but won't be updated with errata. I appreciate his candor, but that's unacceptable IMO. The MM2 should be more/new monsters, not a replacement for a bunch of broken ones. I truly...

    Understanding Charge

By RAW, does LoS or LoE have any bearing on a PCs ability to charge?

DDI Changes - PH3 Previews! New price

A thought; they're selling us completed PHB3 materials 9 months in advance. Wouldn't play-test material be a better option, so they can soak in the feedback from the community? I'm not familiar with the development cycle on a game book like this. Is the whole book basically finished 9 months...

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

Yep, same as all forms of copy protection.

cobalt serpent error, dungeon delve level 10

Greetings. In the Dungeon Delve book p67 is that stat block for the Cobalt Serpent. There seem to be an error, I'd like to defer to a few others for advice on the fix. The "poison the mind" power is listed as standard at will, yet the "Guard Area" description implies it has a recharge. Now they...

    Chillborn Zombie rules questions

My guess is B, that's how I ran them last. That said, I don't see anything in the rules against C. I didn't even think of it; next time I may

No Idiots Allowed! How do you interview for potential new VTT/Online players?

Just let them in on a probationary period, and boot them if its a problem. It isn't as if you're inviting some stranger into your home. Personally I wouldn't go over board on an interview process, you don't want to scare off potentially good players. There are many online games to choose from...

The new Kindle DX: good for gaming?

Is it more secure? I don't know too much about it, I assume it uses DRM. If that DRM isn't cracked already, it will be. The crackers-that-be probably haven't bothered with it since it isn't popular enough yet.

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

It's easy enough to backup data, everyone should be doing it regularly. A pdf will probably be small enough that you could simply email it to yourself. Now anything to do with DDi, yes that's another story. I won't be purchasing any books that can only be read with some kind of online drm...

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

Aren't cards print-style products? They can still be scanned, just like books.

Unhappy Pally - Righteous Rage + Vicious Weapon

All he has to do is rework his character as fighter and take Rain of Blows; he'll be outperforming the strikers in no time.

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

Are you sure it isn't OCRed? If it isn't I'm sure another copy is; it's very easy to make a scan searchable.

Forked Thread: How do you feel about online gaming?

90% of my DnD playing is online in maptool. I think its fantastic and gets better with every release. If the DDi gametalbe is ever released I'll at least take a look at it, but since maptool is free it would really need to blow me away.

    Hasbro bought Google?

I doubt that's the case here, arcane power is just too new. Search Google for "[any dnd book except AP] torrent" and you will find it.

More Infos About DDI / Campaign Tools

OMG, that would be awesome! I would love to post "who wants to play a level X delve?", and then 10 minutes later we're playing. Maptool rocks. I was disappointed about the gametable, but maptool has made it so I really couldn't care less anymore.

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

I agree. Any delay is more indicative of a smaller interest in pnp rpgs. Arcane Power is hardly the latest movie or video game.

My phone call with Creg Leeds

If they believe that, they are dreaming. If it makes it to a hard drive it can be copied, period. Encryption works, but not the way the content industry would like. You can't give people the lock and the key and expect it to only be opened on your terms.

why doesn't anyone go after scribd?

In theory yes, but they could still be sued. I think Viacom is still suing Google/Youtube for similar reasons.
