Recommend Nintendo Switch games to play with remote friends

Thanks for the info thus far. Played Mario Kart last night. Had three connection drops, but otherwise everybody had fun. game launching seemed easy, though I'm guessing the switch has no voice chat support because my friend used Google Meet (I joined my friend's family MK game last night)...

Recommend Nintendo Switch games to play with remote friends

My meatworld friends have Switch Lites. We've ordered Switch Lites. We are steps away from playing games with friends again, remotely. Along with Mario Kart, we're looking for games (RPG/dungeon crawl) that specifically can be played with friends (not strangers) across the internet. Some of...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

you can, but you may want to leave of WHY or WHERE you didn't post. I did not post in a thread about a subject I am not interested in.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Probably not the entire thing, I imagine the light wouldn't get that far. So maybe you'd be left with a semi-colon.

I welcome our new robot overlords

that's always the problem. Not everybody is suited to be a nurse or a programmer (presumably the last 2 jobs that may be left to humanity before the end). And we have yet to ensure everybody gets education they'd like to have (for a trade). Let alone retrain people.

    Labyrinth (movie) In 2020

Aurelio Voltaire has a music project called The Black Labyrinth which follows the movie, decades later as a bard journeys to meet the Goblin King and present him with a song. Here is one such character he meets along the way:

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I hadn't heard that, but I did see an interview with the actor who played Rom who mentioned that the Ferengi actors felt isolated from the rest of the cast and that Armin did have some strong feelings about that. So it wouldn't surprise me that there's more to the story.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

dude, I was being hyperbolic. It's pretty obvious. The point is, experts are now talking about how not presenting other options to reduce the risk added to quarrantine fatigue (which they mentioned the Atlantic article, here it is)...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

I think given that actual people have sex despite being taught abstinence, and that actual people went to actual stores without masks (with their whole family half the time), a guidance that lightened up from "stay home or die" to "fine, wear a mask if you go out, and try to keep it brief...

    Anyone crafting during the shutdown?

I made a Jedi belt for the wife's cosplay a leather steampunk-ish face mask with changeable filter system Due to leaks: repiped my kitchen (including removing hot water heater and re-installing) repiped the master bath sinks rebuilt and painted the adjoining master bedroom wall plus written...

"Why the Empire Strikes Back Is Overrated"

Anywhere your four wheeler can go, a goat can go better. :) You're spot on. We can sit here bragging about the engineering superiority of tracks or wheels, but when those get stuck, we get out and walk.

This article crossed my desk about how the populace handled a quake in Alaska vs. how the authorities thought they would handle it: https://www.commentarymagazine.com/articles/james-meigs/elite-panic-vs-the-resilient-populace/ Add to that, part of an interview I heard on NPR's 1A today. They...

    Downsides of Working From Home

exactly. Plus, some of these people don't have great bandwidth. I'd rather HEAR clearly than get a garbled video and voice. Sure all that facial feedback is great. But there are reasons it's not used and it's not holding them back.

    Downsides of Working From Home

I've been doing WFH for a decade. Nobody has ever done a camera meeting. Every client hasn't bothered with that. Why waste bandwidth?

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Here's the other sneaky trick with the re-openings in the US: once the gov says you aren't forced to close, you lose your government financial support if you choose to stay closed anyway. This also cascades to the workers. if your boss says you have to work, and you say "no, it's not safe."...

    This is Goodbye.

We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield. --excerpted from Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tennyson

    D&D and the rising pandemic

also, as I read a credible article but can't re-find it, there are zero vaccines for coronaviruses. It's never been done. And upper respiratory infections are not ideal candidates for vaccines because your lungs are more like an external facing surface akin to (but not the same as) skin than...
