    D&D 5E (2014) Toward a new D&D aesthetics

I refer back to Morrus's thread regarding the D&D changes to highlight how, release after release it is increasingly evident that the aesthetics of D&D illustrations are changing. What do you think of this trend? DISCLAIMER The purpose of the poll is not to indicate a determined and precise...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

I'm very sad to read this and I must admit that it is extremely easy for us lucky Europeans to underestimate the wideness of racism in US. I'm still skeptic about operations like "made by POC" and very upset of the racist-labelling. As an European I have strong rules about freedom of speech and...

An acceptable, even if a bit optimistic way of interpret facts. unfortunately you screwed up on the ending

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

It seem to me that we are circling around the problem. Recap: someone say that skin color is not guarantee of quality (means good quality). Somebody else say that is guarantee of qualities (means different point of view). For me both of you are right.

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

Possible. It seem to me that Umbran use quality without positive meaning while the other guy use quality implying a positive meaning. Don't know how to say better, I do not master the nuances of english.

But is not a guarantee of "quality". If you want to twist the words I leave you there. Why do you say this when I've written the exact opposite at least 2 times in this thread?

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

I find your post very smart. My sincere compliments. I'd like to add only one thing: it is impossible to have a good conversation about the point if the skeptics are automatically labelled as racist/omophobe/etc. and I really hope that this attitude could be changed because I find it (widely...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

You are right, because you use quality with a different meaning. But this do not imply that your interlocutor was wrong. He simply was using quality with another meaning.

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

Widely speaking maybe it is a prejudice too based on the fact that we have plenty of examples of this unscrupolous and amoral behaviour in marketing. But to reject this argument thinking that it is motivated by racism is to fight a prejudice with another prejudice. This leads to self-costrain...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

Umbran will excuse me if I try to do his mod work now, but, this climate of prejudice doesn't help anybody having a good conversation. Please, try to assume that nobody here is a racist. There are people that, while curious about culture interpretation, fear that the product is sold only...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

Yes but the good of this book maybe is that it's written directly by people who belongs to that culture. I mean is different from a culture interpreted by western people.

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

3 thread, to be precise. The first concerning aestethic of illustration. The 2nd and 3rd talking about a new product advertised as made by POC. The third particular is focused around the POC authors. In this context my opinion, while maybe not agreed by you, is perfectly in-topic. Giving that...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

Edit: REMOVED the metaphore, could be misinterpreted as POLITICS. Confronting myself in another forums it came out that this change in editorial line reflects a sort of hopepunk tendence, opposite to the grimdark tendence that spread in 90ies. There is something heroic around the Hopepunk...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

With all respect to culture, math says that 1 year is when you pass 12 months. :eek:o_O But also we are doing something strange: in Italy we consider the floor directly at street level as the "land floor" and the first floor is the first floor that is elevated in respect of the street. So for us...

D&D 5E (2014) Ajit George Talks About Radiant Citadel's Creators

Hoping that this opinion doesn't fall in the misunderstanding loop my 2 cents is that I'm not interested in the color of authors, I do not consider this kind of operation something useful to the cause of inclusivness. More, I find the illustration style not of my taste. But I want to be hopeful...

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

I want to be sure to say this in a way that doesn't offend you. Really. Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood, especially from Fifth Element.
