    Mexican Stand-off: How To?

For example, there's an encounter in the Arcana Unearthed adventure Siege on Ebonring Keep where they come across a battle with two fronts. Two wagons carrying two farming families have been attacked, first by bandits and then by rhodin raiders. All three groups have suffered casualties and the...

    Mexican Stand-off: How To?

Simply consider that there are certain "scenes" from other sources that don't work in D&D, and come up with interesting new and fresh scenes that are based on how D&D work.

The Weird Penalty of Core Classes

Scouts taking Manyshot should afterward take Greater Manyshot, an obscure general feat found in the Expanded Psionics Handbook that makes it all come together.

Urban content: Races of Destiny vs. Cityscape

Dragon #317 has a good writeup of an urban druid. I would love to play one someday, in an urban focused campaign.

    Barbarian-Rogue Multiclass?

If you ever want to build a improved tripping barbarian, use the wolf totoem variant barbarian. Since you get Improved Trip as a class feature, it doesn't rely on Combat Expertise. In my game, a player picked up a level of barbarian with the whirling frenzy variant class ability. He wanted his...

What did we do before feats, skills, and prestige classes?

Back then I didn't try to model my characters on other kinds of characters. My druid was based on the D&D druid, and my enchantress was based on the D&D wizard(enchanter). Well, I did have a space elf cleric/m-u of Celestian named Trillian. But I just used the name. :)

[Poll] Do you game with friends?

Almost all of the friends I have I have gained through gaming. But when it comes down to it, I game with gamers, then make friends with the gamers I like.

Urban content: Races of Destiny vs. Cityscape

I'm not sure, but instead of having Urbanis as a regular god, he could be the "spirit of the city" that is created from communal subconsious minds of the people. This would be the force that the urban druid taps and reveres.

    Plotlines - eh?

A map of the region eched on steel tablet (or something more fantastic). One a day or once a week, you can touch a spot on the map and it will teleport you to that location. Problem is that if you select a city, it puts you outside of the city gates. And if there's a seige going on.... Second...

    Plotlines - eh?

I'm going to have to disagree with some of this advice. As a player who has played in a campaign where we just wanted to get to a certain city and we keep getting into trouble after trouble after trouble through several levels; and all we want to do is get to this city, this can be...

    Adventure ideas inside a city!

The DMG has a list of wandering encounters for the urban environment. Unfortunately, the list is not part of the SRD link I provided. A really fun scenario is the weeklong holliday, where the entire town celebrates with Tournaments, Fairs, and Taverns.

    Interesting Plot/Story Creation (DMin help)

As far as creating and weaving intereting plots, characters, and storylines, have your player's actions and reactions create the fascinating complexity for you. Here is some technique from another post. He was referring specically to urban adventures, but it's a great idea for creating plots.

    Interesting Plot/Story Creation (DMin help)

My serious advice would be to read and study the Dungeon Master's Guide. At least up to the magic item chapter. It's amazing how many DMs don't even do this, and lose out on some great advice and DM resources and solutions to some of their DM problems. Even experienced DMs can benefit from doing...

Feats expand the weapon proficiency slots. So, you can choose to become proficient in a weapon, or take a feat to get something else, like +1 with a weapon that you are already proficient. So, how can a character take feats if they need to use the feat slots for weapon proficiencies? Well, they...
