5E: Converting AD&D Monsters to Fifth Edition

Oh, I was thinking of these (given he has a honking great falchion!) --------------------------------------- Parry. The efreeti firelord adds 6 to its AC against one attack that would hit it. To do so, the efreeti noble must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon. Incendiary Rebuke...

Yep - that tornado of flames (5d10?) flash step and fiery eyes are good. an extra attack ...pondering this - whether shoud be spruced up somehow...not sure though (could make it a recharge 4-6..or just leave out altogether)

    D&D 5E (2024) The Griffon's Saddlebag - Book Two, now on D&D Beyond!

The patchy coverage by WOTC on dndbeyond is a little frustrating - e.g Grimhollow's Lairs of Etharis but not their monster manual, ToB I but (so far) not the later ones etc.

5E: Converting AD&D Monsters to Fifth Edition

Hmmm - I think I'd prefer to drop the damage and make it need concentration to maintain (not an action) in the interests of giving it more things to do - maybe recharges after short rest. As a good boss I reckon better if has more things it can do simultaneously

I statted this at CR 3 as that's what we needed for a CR 3 aerial critter for the exalted thrall of Pazuzu. I didn't know about the statblocks in Polyhedron Magazine, but this fits nicely. Could easily make a CR 1 or CR 2 male as well. Incidentally I mentioned "Titanic Tabanid" as I've used...

5E: Fifth Edition Monsters Inspired by Third Edition Sources

Came across this on youtube, Fiinkel holds that Pazuzu has been unjustly maligned :D clip Just realised never finished this foe and I want to... ok back to CR 3 aerial critters - having re-read the thread, I think boils down to "titanic tabanid" or a "giant mosquito"...with a preference for...
