D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

Ah Ghostwalk, a setting so unsupported I can't even find a Let's Read thread anywhere on it.

    The Batman Trailer

It's neat they're exploring a detective story—Batman as the World's Greatest Detective is so often overlooked in the movies. Should be a pretty different feel from the Nolan movies, which were great, with this cast! Though any Batman movie will forever play second fiddle to Mask of the Phantasm...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

Yeah its the same content as I have just in a different order. DMs Guild has the whole Iggwilv article in the sample page for anyone who cares to read. Since Iggwilv being Tasha was also in Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk it seems like a bit of a moot point.

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

Yep from Dragon 414 on August 2012, "The Iggwilv–Graz’zt Affair" by John “Ross” Rossomangno which is the first article in the magazine. The "Vale of the Inner Sun Article" might be what you're looking at. It is needlessly confusing since the page numbering starts over from 1 for each article on...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

Turns out it's not just from Dragon Magazine. Though Greyhawk fans are free to ignore. "A successful DC 30 Knowledge (history) check or bardic knowledge check reveals that Raknian’s description of Tasha is similar to the commonly known description of the witch-queen Iggwilv." (Expedition to the...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

This might be splitting hairs, but Iggwilv was called Tasha in a 4E Dragon Magazine article made by WotC after they took the title back from Paizo. “Let us begin with our fair maiden. She has been known by many names over the years: Natasha, Hura, then Tasha, and finally Iggwilv." (Dragon...

D&D 4E Tropes of the Nentir Vale

I know that the article "Channel Divinity: Zehir, the Midnight Serpent" in Dragon 415 says Khala was the last ally of Zehir and was slain by the Raven Queen. The article also says any worshippers of Zehir who also follow another god will become sacrifices to the Midnight Serpent.

Critical Role Why Critical Role is so successful...

I found it very frustrating when they tried new systems like Savage Worlds and viewer suggestions screwed with their ability to do just that without leaning into memes or other silly behavior.

Critical Role Why Critical Role is so successful...

I was thinking of Into the Unknown from 4e and Dungeonscape from 3.5e and how both cover aspects of exploration specific to dungeons. A separate thread with potential suggestions for different styles of play sounds like it could be really useful.

Has WotC ever attempted to put out a whole book dedicated to exploration?

D&D General D&D art, which artists best established each edition or setting?

For 4e I'd say it would be William O'Connor since he did all the concept art that established the look of tieflings and dragonborn.

TV shows that improved on the source

You're free to disagree, but since they didn't have a character as good as Guillermo in the movie its a marked improvement for me.

Critical Role Why Critical Role is so successful...

I don't remember exactly when he said that, but it could always be Sam razzing Liam over always using the Luck feat in Campaign 1 much to Matt's chagrin.

TV shows that improved on the source

Surprised it took this long to come up, but Batman: The Animated Series since it was inspired by the Tim Burton Batman movie seems like a clear winning example here. What We Do in the Shadows is hilarious while expanding on a different set of vampires than the ones the documentary crew followed...

Critical Role Why Critical Role is so successful...

I first started looking at trying D&D again because of Critical Role. It does a great job selling the experience of a TTRPG without attaching any social stigma to it, which many other forms of media that reference D&D often do. If people have unrealistic expectations for table play that may be...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC Dungeons & Dragons 2020 Product Survey

Finally, being exposed to D&D through watching the episode of Dexter's Laboratory where Dexter was a nightmare DM and then reading the 3rd Edition DMG in middle school/hanging out in the scifi/fantasy section of Barnes & Noble and stumbling on new 3.5E books are paying off! The period between...

What are you reading this year 2020?

The hardest thing was honestly keeping characters straight while listening on audiobook and trying to do other things. I've listened to way more podcasts since so I hope I'm better trained to listen and absorb spoken content now.

    D&D 5E (2014) Bad Wrong Fun

If the player was being fair about it it sounds like that provides a lot of opportunity for run roleplay from how you described the character dynamics.
