    Align this character.

Heh. Many villains don't consider themselves evil, but alignments are objective not subjective. The point is, it IS harmful to render someone sterile, especially if you are doing it on the basis that they would have poor offspring. This isn't 'The strongest will survive' this is 'I will...

    Align this character.

Unless he deems them stupid or useless, then he sterilizes them.

    Align this character.

:\ Evil people would stab their friends in the back, not chaotic. Wrong axis. Back to the OP, tough to say. I agree with those that say he is clearly not good. The first line is very misleading: He does though, quite often apparently. People he feels are stupid or useless get harmed by not...

    Starting HP House Rule

So on the way to my first game as a DM in a long time I was thinking about how to make 1st level characters more survivable. I really like Star Wars Saga Edition's take, by granting 3 full HD at 1st level, but I think it's a bit much for D&D. I read about wound points, granting Con as hp for...

    New name for Warlord

Because it will be lots of fun explaining how a Warrior and Fighter are 2 different classes than sound nearly identical. Warlord sounds cool to me, though I would be in favor of making more generic class names rather than more specific class names (so if we could think of something genericer...

Ways to boost HPs on an BBEG

How I handle enemies: Un-named Mooks: Roll for hp if I have time, if not use average. Named Mooks: Max hp for a couple levels, then average or roll. Villains: Max hp for all HD Seems to work pretty well, and is definitely part of the rules (no adding unnecessary feats).

D&D 4E Directly from a quote- 8 classes in 4e! (well, now subject to much debate)

Like someone else said, I wonder if there will be a gish-role in the starting book? It's such a popular combination and they have obviously tried many times to do it in 3e and 3.5 (from as early as Sword and Fist with the PrC Spellsword all the way up till the Duskblade). It seems like their...

    Favored classes?

Hopefully favored classes and multiclassing restrictions died a painful death and R&D are eating Sacred Cowburgers for lunch.

    D&D 4E Race Matters more in 4e?

D&D 4E Do we still need plusses for weapons and armour? An idea for 4E?

If you play it saga-style, then characters will do more damage as they level regardless. I wouldn't miss +s personally. You find a Magical Greatsword. You find a Greatsword +3. Eh, if 3e characters weren't so item-dependent (starved) you could have things be more novel-fantasy and less numeric.

D&D 4E Which race will get the uber treament in 4e?

There are only a few classes that wear heavy armor. Those are a toss-up between human and dwarf for power (maybe the dwarf has a narrow edge). But for the rest of the classes? Human all the way power-wise.

Why are we trying to make 1st level PCs tougher?

Roll Initiative! 1. Monsters 2. Player 1 3. Player 2 4. Player 3 5. Player 4 Round 1 The Monsters attack! DM rolls 17, 15, 18, and 20! for the monsters. Players 1-4 take damage, Player 4 is seriously wounded. Players roll 10, 12, 5, 2. None of the monsters get hit! Round 2 The Monsters...

    My take on Staff "Familiars"

Seems fine if it costs a feat and disallows you from having a familiar.

    Iron Heroes Balance Issues

It seems like the module was about right. I mean, some fights are going to be easy to a group of adventurers and some aren't, period. The epic battles where the entire party is on single digit hp and they just barely manage to kill the bbeg are hard to come by, especially in a module. That is...

Can Brawling & Combat Martials Arts Feats be combined?

My group allows Brass Knuckles to be used to make Brawling, non-AoO attacks. Not sure if that is RAW though...

    Battlestar Galactica RPG

I don't know, the crew of the firefly never seemed too rich to me. Mostly they did jobs to pay for fuel and save up money for vacations (crew) and repair (captain). Money also came in handy a couple times for tight jobs, IIRC. Basically, money shouldn't be the driving force of the campaign...

    [Dreamscarred Press] High Psionics: Soulknives

I'm curious if you have a BAB +1 soulknife variant? I was working on one for a while in House Rules but finally kinda gave up. The mind blade seems better suited as a feat or power given the standard soulknife class (mostly in regards to multiclassing - the base class is OK if you just stay in it).

    Balanced Race? Judge the 'Perfects'

Eh? <Scratches Head> If you are comparing characters can we compare a Human fighter 18/barbarian 2 and perfect fighter 18/barbarian 1? Seems more fair that way... (and we'll assume they both started as Barbarians). I'll assume elite arrays, as you did. The comparison comes out nearly the same if...

    Balanced Race? Judge the 'Perfects'

Is it too strong for +1 because of eyeballing existing LA +1 races or because it may actually result in more of a disparity between characters than 1 level should create (in favor of the perfects)? As a challenge, can anyone break this (using AE Classes)? I've tried a couple times but it comes...
