    D&D 5E (2014) Melee sorcerer build

You could do that. Your quickened cantrip could be GFB or Booming blade as well for an additional attack. Sorcery points are the limiting factor on the quickens. Either way, Haste is a great idea. As long as you have sorcery points you could make 4 attacks in a round (Attack, Extra attack...

    D&D 5E (2014) Cross-classing Subclasses and Multiple subclasses

We do this, and I think I shared my original post on here about it. We call it Multi-pathing. It works great. My players like the freedom it allows them to roll mold their character with the story. It's definitely not too good. If anything, like is often (though no always) the case with 5e...

    D&D 5E (2014) Melee sorcerer build

Are you pact of the blade? What Invocations do you have? Are you sword & board or two handed weapons? Are you using feats in your game or not? How does elemental weapon give you CHA to damage twice? When I read it it says you get +1 to attack/damage and +1d4 elemental damage of your choice...

D&D 4E Converting an old pc from 4e to 5e

Interesting. It's like a mix of Hellish Rebuke and Crown of Madness. Those are the only near analogues for it that I can think of quickly. Is bolts of bedevilment single forced attack? You might be able to just make a 2nd level spell that forces the attack like crown of madness but only...

Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana: Psionics!

And there's where I don't think it needs to squeeze into one class though. I fully support the idea of a Psion base class. I don't think we'll get one until Dark Sun, but I'd love one. That's the nice thing about Class vs. subclass in this edition really. At the same time, let the Psychic...

D&D General Which standard classes have you never (or very rarely) seen played? (Edited)

It's a nitpick, but specialist wizards existed in 3.x PHB as well. At least as much as they did in 2e.

D&D General Which standard classes have you never (or very rarely) seen played? (Edited)

I mean... if you mean for damage, I guess? Being stronger doesn't make you a better shot. And that is the mechanical "rub" so to speak. 5e's simplification of mechanics means that something that uses Dex to attack but Str to damage isn't going to make an appearance. While I agree it's more...

D&D General Which standard classes have you never (or very rarely) seen played? (Edited)

Warlord.... since none of the groups I ever played in played 4e thank goodness. After that... Paladin because: baggage. Neat chart @Ashrym!

D&D 5E (2014) Your interpretation of infusions (Artificer)

The table is pretty clear. You know 4 infusions. You can infuse 2 items.

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron versus Multiverse

It's just an analogy to set up, not quality. If Golden Corral offends your taste sensibilities on quality, imagine it rather as a food court that has Mortons, Legal Seafood, B&R, et al. All in one place where they exist each as their own unique restaurants you can sit and dine in with their...

D&D General D&D Art across the editions

Whimsy in the more traditional "Grimms Fairytales are really horrible things" types of whimsy perhaps? They certainly evoke whimsy and childlike feelings for me :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron versus Multiverse

The D&D multiverse isn't a kitchen sink though. It's more like a Golden Corral Buffet. You can just stick to the section that has fried foods. Or you can go to the section that has salads. But if you want... you can have salad AND fried foods... and pizza, and ice cream, and prime rib...

Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana: Psionics!

@Giltonio_Santos put up an interesting take on Psion with the fighter chassis in this thread here The results are on there as a PDF. Worth a look if that is a route you're interested in going.

    [IC] Evilhalfling's Dark Sun

Dukkoti stood to his knee, knocked an arrow, and let fly in one smooth set of motions. His arrow flew true and struck the defiler in his upper arm, then Dukkoti ducked down once again, taking cover from the other archers. He was the biggest threat to everyone... the archers were retreating...

As in those things were all present in the 1e Psionics as well?

Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana: Psionics!

I would say that Psionics in the D&D archetype is more "mastery of mind over all matter" than just "mastery of the mind" as is common in more Sci-fi or Super's (telepathy/TK). Psionics in D&D has always (readmy experience is only since 2e) had the ability to do all of these: Telepathy...

D&D 5E (2014) In your Years of Gaming, How many Psionic Characters did you See played

I think there is a big difference with Psionics as a widespread/setting wide Psionics and just psionics as an add on to a more traditional setting. Especially when the DS psionics is the only "safe" way to do "supernatural"/"magical" things without sucking the life out of the world around you...
