So long as you have other people fighting up with you, Sneak Attack is often not an issue to trigger. If you want to have more attacks happening while you're up in melee you can add a second weapon to use on your bonus action to get it. Normally when you're up in melee you won't be doing much...

D&D 5E (2014) Can you twin booming blade

I agree it's not evident. I don't think there's a reliable portion of metamagic that can be differentiated from teh spellcasting for a sorcerer.

D&D 5E (2014) Encumbrance by carrying capacity - an easier way

I've used this system in a PBP game with the Darker Dungeon variant systems. It works well and I liked it. Made you have to make some tough decisions on what you're carrying where. Also made bags of holding even more of a priority than the are in normal games :)

Tales from the Yawning Portal vs. Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Part TWO! Vote for your favorite adventures

I think @Paul Farquhar and at least myself are thinking of Hidden Shrine in relation to its original release. Where it was literally a time-limited event It's not a presumption of how the module should play it's literally how the module was designed to play. If you want to play it differently...

D&D 5E (2014) Odyssey of the Dragonlords Available Weapons and Armor

Poll your players and see what they want in a session 0? I often find if the players have the ground rules/expectations set at session 0 or earlier if you do pre-session 0 character creation, that there isn't usually any issues with limiting things for the sake of in-setting verisimilitude...

    D&D 5E (2014) [POLL] Best non-combat cantrips

They're not glossed over in games I play, at any of the tables I play with. Prestidigitation is used often for just that purpose. You say "vain/comfort", I say "fundamentals of spellcasting cantrip". I find it odd when there are prepared caster PC's out there who don't have Druidcraft...

I'd Focus on Barbarian to Barbarian 5 for all the things you mentioned: bear totem, reckless attack, Extra attack, Danger sense, Fast Movement, +1 rage/long rest Then get Rogue to 7-8 if you have more levels for another two Expertise skills, Evasion, +1d6 sneak attack, and maybe another ASI at...

    D&D 5E (2014) Cats and Class Features.

This is true. Even Mike Mearls agrees that you can't choose the same stat twice for the +1's.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Hexblade Paladin

Agreed. After that, I would go Paladin 8 and Warlock 8 to get 2 ASI/Feat on back to back levels. Then the question is Paladin 11/Warlock 9 Paladin 11 gets you 3rd level Paladin spells, Aura of Courage, Improved Divine Smite (+1d8 radiant on all hits), Warlock 9 gets you +1 Invocation, +1...

Metamorphosis: From Dretch to Demon Lord - Ascension Released!

Me too, but I guess they deleted their post? The trilogy was finished. I bought it back in 2008 or something. It was actually kind of hard to find, but this is still on DriveThruRPG: Metamorphosis: The Complete Journey

    D&D 3.x D&D 3E Design: The Unbalanced Cleric

I don't know that you'd need a second class, but you'd want to write out a BUNCH of new invocations to reflect different things the domains can do currently. Also maybe Channel Divinity or Wild Shape becomes based on spell slot expenditure rather than a separate mechanic? It's an interesting...

    D&D 5E (2014) Cats and Class Features.

It'd probably be fine in combo with the UA, though swapping out my 14th level sorcerer origin feature to reduce damage by 4-5 points doesn't seem worth it to me. But... each to their own on that one. YMMV.

    D&D 5E (2014) Senident Magic item[staff] casting spell

That's... not an issue in 5e as far as I know. Plus the staff is an object and mage hand can specifically pick up objects and stuff.

D&D 5E (2014) Cost of manning a ship (Ghosts of Saltmarsh, DMG)

There are so many anachronisms in D&D already, having a ship's surgeon should be acceptable, especially given the prevalence of healing magics, healer's kits, and medicine skills.
