Beg, borrow or steal (okay not that last one) a copy of "Of Sound Mind" from Fiery Dragon. It's a cool adventure, easily set up and probably buyable in PDF form. My group loved it (and I enjoyed DMing it - something that doesn't happen as frequently as I wold like).

Take a look at the first adventure in the Well of Worlds adventure book. It would make a nice starting point for what you're looking to do. Edit: It's been about 10 years since I looked at it but I think I'm right.

I'm no DB expert, but I would recommend the book "Database Design for Mere Mortals". It's software independant and does a great job of explaining how to design tables etc.

I just wrapped up my campaign after about a two year run and can see how people would like it, but have to say that I absolutely hated it. I suspect that what makes it good is that it's a huge self-contained dungeon that contains loads of interesting ideas that a DM could expand into something...

I'm in the same boat as PC. I bought it took a quick look and went "huh.... nothing interesting here". Couple of months later I pulled it out and made a few characters with it and now I'm a fan. There are a few manuevers that I dislike and I wish there were more manuevers and stances available...

I expect to get screwed on shipping. I'm surprised though that you found Paizo cheaper for shipping. Last time I ordered from them it was about the same for shipping costs.

Hmmm... you must have a different copy than mine, because I'd guestimate that at least half of the rooms per map have no description to them.

Just ordered mine from Arkham Bazaar. It's too bad they were out of the CSI:Arkham hats. I would have really liked one of those.

I believe #2 is the Kaorti from Fiend Folio. #1 is definately Cranium Rats, I believe they are mentioned in either the Manual of the planes or the Planar handbook but there are no stats for them.
