Should girls be allowed to play fighter characters

Well, here is how I see it. The problem may not be gender, it might be that the DM simply feels that your "personality" is incapable of projecting the proper drama to play a paladin or fighter. In which case, it is your GM's game, you play by their rules. If you opt not to, then start a...

Casting a spell inside an Antimagic zone

ANTIMAGIC An antimagic field spell or effect cancels magic altogether. An antimagic effect has the following powers and characteristics: • No supernatural ability, spell-like ability, or spell works in an area of antimagic (but extraordinary abilities still work). • Antimagic does not dispel...

    UA spell Points Question

Spells - Allotment vs Points Okay... a while back, my party did a comparison of a Cleric, Druid, Sorcer, and Wizard at 12th level, using the point method versus spell allotment. This is what we found... While some differences among arcane there is a severe discrepancy with the Cleric. The...

Do Ray Spells suffer -4 "Firing into Melee" penalty?

Umm... I hate to be the one to point this out, but... straight off of the Wizards SRD for 3.5... "RAYS All ray attacks require the attacker to make a successful ranged touch attack against the target. Rays have varying ranges, which are simple maximums. A ray’s attack roll never takes a range...

    Pet peeves of D&D gaming

Hmm... Pet Peeves of Gamers Hmm... let me think. Here are a few things that bug me a little about some gamers: 0. Players that try to play every aspect of the game (try to be diplomat, spell caster, power fighter, scout, translator, trader, cleric, etc.) 1. Sidetracking into irrelevant...

what to include in a temple/cathedral

Include the following: 1. Hidden compartment/room - ppl of the cloth are notorious for hiding something or themselves in closets. 2. Stained Glass Window - some have patterns that solve puzzles, some simply shade the lighting for hiding certain things. Some are actually portals. 3. Trap...

    Low-level adventures?

I DM'd a low level campaign for a while... and figured out that low level wasn't for me. I could start low level, but things I wanted to try out on the party were just too much. So, one day I took them on a side quest, possessed them, ... they went unconscious. They awoke 10 years later at...

    When is it too much?

It officially becomes too much for me when I am scheduling the rest of my life around the game. That includes scheduling any part of my life around it to any significant degree.

DMs: How do your players show their appreciation for what you do?

Usually by saying that they either like the story or that they don't want me to stop DM'ing

Growing the hobby: Why target the young?

(Laugh) It is simple, my dear Watson, ... the younger they are, the more things they will buy. If you hook them on something when they are young, most likely they will keep buying it well into their 30's, that is as long as the hobby lives that long and has others willing to play.

What exactly can you do to a scrying sensor?

The only thing you can do about it is get rid of it... or, if you are in my party, you get the rogue to dress everyone up and make a bluff that "these aren't the droids that you are looking for".

NO. I don't think so, and from the look of things not many others do either.

    How important are prestige classes?

one would think that there would be an easier way to "Poll" this question... I think that if a campaign only runs until 13h level or so, it would not be so bad. I am sure though, if you were to continue a long drawn out campaign with just the same old stuff, after a while it could become...

    multiple cohorts

Quick Note that I forgot to mention... all feats in the v3.5 PHB ... the ones that you are allowed to take more than once actually say so. I would say that unless the feat actually says you may take it more than once, then no... it may not be taken but only once. my two cents.
