That's why I use d20 Mecha for all my vehicle designs (and mecha, starship, PA etc.). So easy to use and its free (well the SRD is). I also use Blood & Circuits on ocassion, but more for personal stuff like armor, weapons and gear.

I have to agree with Malladin. I ran it a couple of times and while I love the universe and some of the mechanics, it was written for 3rd edition and it shows. Holistic planned on releasing Sathranet which would have been powered by d20 Modern, but its currently vaporware

What about buying it as a pdf? It's cheaper than buying the hard copy, plus you have the added bonus of bieng able to copy and paste the relevant sections
