The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

I suppose a "Gary Gygax's Greyhawk" set on a fantasy midwest US map, would qualify. Something closer to his home campaign, not stepping on the WotC setting. Licenses from both WotC and Gail would be required, probably. A long shot, to be sure.

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

I guess Conan's Hyboria is another possibility, though the last film didn't do well, and Mongoose had a time with licensing issues there. Pinnacle has Lankhmar locked up, which would be the only other former TSR setting of note that WotC doesn't outright own.

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

Shannara is a really good guess, Morrus. It wouldn't be my idea for Story of the Year, but it would be for a lot of people.

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

AGE is not d20-based in any way.

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

Someone speculated Wheel of Time, although that is hardly an RPG Story of the Year contender. Unless it's Harry Potter (which seems unlikely), I doubt there is a bigger property that isn't already locked down.

    Any work done on "zones"?

Glad to hear it's still being considered. Thanks for the quick reply!

    Any work done on "zones"?

I was initially very interested in these games when the first info was released. My interest waned quite a bit when I learned about the emphasis on tactical/mini combat (which I rarely use). I backed at the PDF level, anyway, as Russ said there might be zone-based combat as an alternate to using...

    The Strange Corebook

5 out of 5 rating for The Strange Corebook Powered by the Cypher System (originally used in Numenera), The Strange nimbly walks a line between traditional and narrative RPGs. It does feature parallels to traditional classes, feats and backgrounds, but attributes are treated as resource pools...

    D&D 5E (2014) Full preview unlocked!

Hmmm. 15 or 16 pp. of index. Perhaps it's to all three books (or at least DMG and PH like first edition.)

D&D 5E (2014) Deck of Many Things Preview

The two-thirds of it that would be previewed. If it even reaches that goal.

    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk?

Anyone know which Ravenloft set that is? It looks like Masque of the Red Death to me, but that could be wishful thinking on my part.

D&D 5E (2014) What happens in the sundering?

That's the 25000 GP question, isn't it? I don't think anyone knows what happened during the Sundering, other than the planets Abeir and Toril unmerged. Six novels and two epic modules later and I know about as much as I did when the announcement of the Sundering event was made. Edit: in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does 5E NEED a campaign world book?

Although I probably won't die from it, this. It's all well and good if you're running the Sword Coast and maybe Phlan (for those with OP ties), but it's pretty difficult to know what's up in other parts of the world without a new version of the setting book. Aside from the Realms, I'd like...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e as an universal gaming engine ?

I also believe it will do fine for other similar genres. I don't need fully universal, just usable outside of fantasy. Ideally, I'd like them to redux D20 Modern, but perhaps revive the Alternity brand name for it. If it could do what d20Modern/Future/Past did, it would suit my needs. YMWV.

D&D 5E (2014) My interview with Trapdoor Technologies about DungeonScape

Thanks. As you were in the room, I'm sure you're correct. It actually looked thick to me in the video, and like you, I have a 4.

D&D 5E (2014) My interview with Trapdoor Technologies about DungeonScape

I'm not sure about that. Wasn't that an iPad 1 he was using? It certainly looked thicker than newer ones. Of course as it's a developer's version of the app, they might have just relaxed the iOS version requirement in xcode for that build.

D&D 5E (2014) Princes of the Apolcalypse/Adventurer's Handbook by Sasquatch Game Studios

I suspect the Adventurer's Handbook will be more like HotFL or HotFK in that it serves as a standalone PHB alternative. If Part 2 is reprinted in whole, and classes each have new subclasses, new assortment of spells, with only a few key reprints, it might work. Elemental Evil would effectively...

D&D 5E (2014) Princes of the Apolcalypse/Adventurer's Handbook by Sasquatch Game Studios

The current Expeditions line is also part of the Tyranny of Dragons "arc" (in addition to Hoard and Rise). It seems likely that future organised play modules will be part of the Elemental Evil story arc.

D&D 5E (2014) Faded Ink / Smudging Ink in PHB

Yeah. Two small dot-like smudges on the first page of the druid entry. Not too big a deal, I'll get another "shelf copy" later that I'll go over with a fine-tooth comb.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E psionics

I suspect that a Psionics Handbook will be released containing several ways of handling the topic, including emulating earlier edition versions. This would likely include a core fifth edition version that combines elements of all the earlier systems, and is freely available as a Basic...
