but the monk can't weild it because he is holding it in one hand. Also, if the monk has no intention of weilding it and is simply holding it so it to keep it away from the original weilder, I would say the object rules apply more.

A couple that may work well together: Barbarian/Fighter - Barbarian with crazy feats (actually add fighter to any martial build and you get crazy feats) Monk/Cleric - Monk with spells (Divine power, ouch) Monk/Druid - Powerful wildshape fighter Sorc/bard - Spells, songs, and skills...

There were in 2nd ed, but I haven't seen them in 3rd. I would suggest using stats for a jvelin, or trowing spear, and increasing the range. The Atlatl thrower mainly increased range for the small spearlike projectiles.

By that logic, any fighter carrying a shield, which CAN be used as a weapon, gets the TWF penalties. Also, any one carrying a torch in their off-hand , whcih CAN be used as a weapon gets the penalties. Not to mention if the TWF is moving and CAN'T use their off-hand weapon...

Do you take the penalty if you are holding something that is not a weapon in your off-hand? No penalty to hold (and use for that matter) a shield, no penatly to hold a torch, no penalty to hold a second weapon you are not using.

I think usig str as a requirement to weild weapons, and dex to hit, would make a reasonable system. Technically, any 10 str fighter can wield and fight with a 12 pound greatax; realistically, while they could probably lift it, wielding it in combat (hitting someone and using it to stop incoming...

The bit about a human loosing their bonus feat and skill points is a little wacky. So when you polymorph you suddenly forget how to, say, dodge or anything further you gained in that tree and how to ride a horse or intimidate someone? That just don't fly...

Actually, for a VERY martial based druid don't throw out the wildshape; use it. Focus on waldshaping and look to the PrCs "nature's warrior" and "war shaper" these both seriosly buff the druid's fighting ability while wldshaped. A druid/warshaper and/or nature's warrior in, say, tiger...

Maybe its just that I've been playing one lately, but this screames "monk" to me. Go stunning fist AND improved grapple with that many feats. You can also pick up improved natural attack and ability focus (stunning fist). With a monks belt and a few other well picked items, you will nigh on...

We actually do energy drain/negative levels different than as per the book; the recipient gets xp loss as opposed to RAW negative levels (I know that this is a house rule, but the original question was about creatures and belongs in the rules forum).

That sounds good, but isn't a katana either one- or two-handed? If so the Bokken should be also. This will also help with the poor dmage dice somewhat.
