    Cleric (Templar) is Up

It appears that the weaponmaster update is part of the April errata doc, but not the marshal or the templar. Weird. It's a real nuisance to have errata scattered around multiple docs. Interesting. I concur with Incenjucar.

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Late to the Party These have already been answered, I'm sure, but I'll ask anyway: 1. Are the CC articles ever going to be added to the compiled errata doc? 2. Other than the Templar, Marshal and Weaponmaster articles, has there been any other 'stealth' errata? This is all rather sudden for...

    Royal Rumble: Multiclass vs. Hybrid!

Thanks for the replies, everyone. The more I read, the more I want to go with option D -- house rule a third way. Well, I'd probably allow MCing more or less how I allow it currently but I'd write a second MC feat for those who want a deeper dual-classing experience. (For lack of a better term.)...

    Royal Rumble: Multiclass vs. Hybrid!

I have a dilemma.* I feel like multiclassing and hybriding are redundant, and I'd like to simply ban one as part of my house rules. But they both have pros and cons: Multiclassing House Rule I Already Use: You don't have to blow feats just to swap out for a E/D/U power. If you have a MC feat...

How to influence a group's rules usage without alienating them?

I agree. Make your move, Kzach, and let us know how it works out.

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

Chapter 9 will be finalized today! Just checked, and it turns out there is a teleport clause. If you teleport an enemy anywhere they could fall from, they get a save. If they pass, the teleport fails. Period. If they fail, they get to do a Wile E Coyote reference. I'm not sure...

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

Yeah, I'm torn on this one. Bypassing Slow with rule technicalities seems sketchy, but usually you do have to use a limited power to do so. And who knows? Maybe Slow really is intended to be that bypassable. So Stun and Petrify would basically be "this is a good time to use your second wind."...

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

Alright folks, here's what my Chapter 9 house rules are looking like: Regular Saves: Rolled on the inflictor's turn. I myself am going to try Tequila's index card idea, or something like it to help with condition tracking. Extra Saves: Can end any condition. I'm going to start giving elites and...

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

Ending everything on the target's turn certainly does make tracking simpler, but I have a few questions: 1. How did you decide which powers to change? Do you change them on a case-by-case basis, or did you go thru your books to find all the powers that need changing? 2. What did you change...

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

My gut reaction is to love this idea! I may have to steal this one, but just to play devil's advocate: overlapping Slow or Daze effects aren't so bad, but have you ever had overlapping Stun or Dominate effects in your game? I suspect that the non-overlapping rule was written to prevent players...

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

You're right. For my part, I think UENT is closer to the balance that the devs intended than (save ends). [Unless we're talking about elites and solos, but I won't get into that now.] UENT is basically "duration: 1 round," which allows everyone the opportunity to take advantage of a condition...

    Balancing (Save Ends) with UENT

Preamble: I'm transcribing Chapter 9 of the PHB into a pdf, including all errata. I'm also tweaking a few things that the official errata hasn't addressed. One of those issues is the fact that (save ends) conditions are often inferior to those that last Until the End of Next Turn (UENT). If...

    Too Complicated A Buy-In?

I'm not sure what you mean by "pretzel," but I've written a couple dozen pdfs that compile a lot of 4e's basic stuff -- races, classes, skills. They include all official errata, plus some common sense fixes that WotC hasn't made official for whatever reason. I haven't written pdfs for any of...

    Math fixes; can you clarify?

The original Expertises scaled at 1, 15 and 25 levels. The newer ones scale at 1, 11 and 21 levels. The original NAD (non-armor defense) boosters were just flat bonuses. The errataed ones and Improved Defenses scale at 1, 11 and 21. The epic NAD boosters are still a flat +4 bonus. I know, it's...

C4, the Best Edition Never Published

Woot, the C4 classes are complete! Mostly. I still need to search through Dragon mag for whatever powers never made it into print, but I just finished the Warden pdf today, the last of the classic 4e classes. It’s hard to believe I’ve been writing C4 for seven months now, and it’s satisfying to...
