Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I have another question for Paizo while they're on here. Does this news have anything to do with your recent disappearance from conventions? Specifically, I don't see you on the list for KublaCon this year. Last year I picked up a bunch of cool stuff from you guys, like the D&D shot glass (my...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Yeah, online journalism, what a joke. People write because they love the game. That will never stop, whether in print or online.

Hey guys, on the bright side Knights of the Dinner Table is still around. Technically it is now the only periodical with official D&D material. Hoody-hoo!

Now come on it's not that bad. Worse has gone through Dragon. Wil Save? The old Class Acts? (And even some of the new?) Silicon Sorcery? 90% of Polyhedron? It's not like WotC can't just just copy Paizo's model and continue it online. They have several months before the magazine goes...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Well I'm glad to know you sat on this news for so long. The movie had been in development for years. The movie name is going to have more recognition than your magazine probably ever will. You might as well call it 300 magazine. The name is pretty lame IMO. But you have WAR art so I'm on...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

So this new campaign setting, what's "cool" about it? What makes it stand out from all the other generic stuff out there? If it's Greyhawk 2 I might as well stick with the original and play Living Greyhawk. Is there anything unique about the setting? I always thought that if you used a...

BTW, you know I really do think the name "Pathfinder" is appropriate (Adventure Path term and all), but you do know that there's a movie out called Pathfinder right? Couldn't you come up with something more original? I mean, not that Game Mastery is all that better, but come on. What about...

Dragonshards, Steal this Hook, Creature Competition, the monster redesign series, the recent series with the Swiftblade PrC, the Mind's Eye, the character class series (much better than the class acts guides IMO)...these are all very enjoyable. And they were FREE. We'll see what we get when...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Cool. Because (ironically) I probably would not buy it if I couldn't get it in electronic format.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

OK, legitimate question for Mr. Jacobs and company. Now that I know that WAR is doing the cover art, I may actually get Pathfinder. Yes, I'm shallow and superficial. I judge books by their covers. Question: Can we get Pathfinder on PDF like we get War of the Burning Sky? I ask this...

But no Conversion notes! Oh wait, there weren't any for the others either. (At least not on time to be useful to people who actually want to run what they bought when they bought it that is.)

Well we haven't seen in them in some time now have we? ;) We also won't see "Why doesn't Pathfinder run more Greyhawk adventures" either.

Or the beginning of a new series of articles on WotC's site called "The Ecology of..." There is no reason why WotC can't publish all of the articles online now.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

That's another reason for WotC to get rid of the magazine. It hurts the competition that needs it for advertising.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

So will WotC take all of these thousands of submissions that Paizo is too busy to handle and possibly use them? Will articles like Core Beliefs, Ecologies, Class Acts, etc now be available at WotC's site after September? We already have Sage Advice (daily too, very nice) and Dragonshards...

Pathfinder 1E Reported post: Crap on Paizo Here(3464220)

Original post: in Thread Crap on Paizo Here Reason: This thread is very insulting. The Dungeon/Dragon news thread is just that: reaction to the news and comments from the community. Some people (myself included) are defending WotC, because there is a lot of negative bashing going on there...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Most of the material that's online is worth paying for. I would have bought Keith Baker's Dragonshards. I read the site every day even though it's free. So paying $10 a month is no big loss to me. Especially now that I'm not paying a yearly subscription to Dragon and Dungeon anymore.

They do have until September. It's not like we're "starving". Who knows what they will launch by then. It could rock. Or not. It's too early to tell. We're the internet guys who know about this stuff. Most of the players I know won't even know about this for months, and many probably...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

How do we know they were successful? How do we know that they weren't cutting in on WotC's profit? Perhaps their research indicated that people weren't buying WotC material because they were getting everything they needed from Dungeon and the core books? Maybe the Adventure Paths were too...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

So what, we're just getting adventures now from Paizo? "Pathfinder" is more expensive than both Dungeon and Dragon combined. Goodman Games has a better, cheaper selection of generic d20 material, IMO. I definately won't be getting a subscription, but I may pick it up when it's dirt cheap at...
