Inherent Bonuses and Polymorph/Wild Shape; Or, Druid Wildshape Smackdown!

I asked the question about Inherent bonuses and wild shaping almost a year ago. Everyone I talked to said that the Inherent bonuses are an instantaneous enhancement to your ability score. As such, they don't carry over when wildshaped or polymorphed. For the shifter I play, I've had my...

    D&D 3.x Druidesque 3.5 questions

I didn't see anything in the Polymorph description or in the DMG that said that templates weren't allowed. Where did you find that reference?

    Wild armor/shields...

Why would you assume so? I agree that they probably should, but while they are melded they in no way restrict the characters movements or even count toward encumberance. The Wild enhancement allows the owner to gain the sheild/armor armor class bonuses.

    Wild armor/shields...

From SRD: Do armor check penalties or non-proficiency penalties apply? The armor is melded and the enchantment only states that you get the armor/shield AC bonus along with it's enchantment bonus. The Wild enhancement seems to allow Druids to use Fullplate and tower shields that they're not...

How many attacks does an Ettin get?

The SRD lists: 2 greatclubs +12/+7 melee; or 2 longspears +5/+0 ranged Does that mean he gets 4 swings +12/+7/+12/+7 or does one hand get one swing at +12 and the other gets one at +7?

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Noteworthy spell changes

Is the "enhancement" bonus from Barkskin [3.5] a new bonus type? You forgot that Shapechange now gives the caster the Su abilities of the form. You can now change into a dragon and breathe, then change into a Beholder and hit opponants with eye rays or Anti-Magic. [not a fan of this change]

    D&D 3.x [3.5] How is Shapechange balanced?

In 3.0, the Shifter gains Ex abilities, feats, racial skills, and physical attributes (str, con, dex) of the creature they change into. Until the class is revised, Wildshape (which Greater Wildshape is an extension of) is based on Polymorph Self. I don't have the 3.5 PHB yet, but I believe no...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] How is Shapechange balanced?

Has WotC even commented on when the class book PrCs or feats will be revised?

    D&D 3.x [3.5] How is Shapechange balanced?

If you can find something that's Gargantuan size with 15 or less HD, let me know. The HD restriction makes most creatures above Huge unattainable so Gargantuan size is a pretty useless ability.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] How is Shapechange balanced?

Shapechange was a very powerful spell in 3.0 and was borderline too powerful. Now that the caster gains Su abilities, it's even more powerful than before. Sure they're now limited to 2xcaster level in HD of creature they can copy, but still that's an aweful lot of power. I would have liked to...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Monks and Shields

If it's not being wielded, would it still be considered "attended"? It is floating a couple of feet away, if it's considered an unattended object it would be very easy to destroy it.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Monks and Shields

They probably should loose it with an animated shield. But what about a Monk/Druid using a shield with the Wild enchantment. The shield is melded into their form and not in any way restrictive. Should they loose their Wis bonus to AC then?

    Swatting the Shifter

Level of the spell has nothing to do with it. Dispel magic can dispel the ongoing effects of spell-like or supernatural abilities. The caster level check is 1d20+1/level (max 10) vs 11+caster level. The tricky part is what should your monk1/wiz5/shifter5 caster level be with respect to Greater...

Creating a character with 21 levels

I'm pretty sure that ghosts can only drain once per round. I had to look up a monk/vampire before and saw something in the errata.

    Ring of 9 Lives...

I wasn't sure if the ring was only effective if the wearer went from 0 to -9hp. Casting a heal on someone that is at -10 doesn't do a whole lot since they're dead. Although the name of the ring does imply that the character will have 9 lives. :p

    Ring of 9 Lives...

Does the ring prevent death? It states that if the wearer drops to 0hp or below that the ring will cast a heal on them. What if they have 5hp and get hit for 20 more hp. They'll be at -15 and dead or does the ring heal them before they actually die?

    Grapple question...

Hmm grapple grapple grapple. Yet another question... When a creature is grappling, can it make attacks on opponants not in the grapple? If so, does it then take the -20 penalty? Is the -20 penalty apply only to those not in the grapple? I have two PCs attacking a creature with Improved Grab...

    Grapple question...

Two tentacles are attached to one PC and one on the other. :D Why are attack rolls needed for the other tentacles if they are going to grapple someone already in the grapple? If a Dire Bear hits someone with a claw and uses it's Improved Grab to start a grapple, does it have to roll "to hit"...

    Grapple question...

If a creature has a hold with one limb does it have to roll a normall attack roll to do damage with another limb or does it only have to make an opposed grapple check? I currently have a monster that has 7 tentacles. It has a hold of two PC and will be attacking them with the other 4 tentacles...

    Shapechange question

Tome & Blood has the latest version of Poly Self/Other. Sure you can use the claw/bites, but you have to use your normal iterative attacks. A Shifter with a BAB of +8 would get two Primary attacks (claw) of +8 and a secondary attack (bite) at +3. A wizard with a BAB of +8 would get only two...
