    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Ari- I could not bear to go find his post in this immense thread, but that is the player post that I meant. :)

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Voss- I tend to agree; that is why class-based systems ultimately suck. :) D&D approached a point-based system in 3.0/3.5, and then reverted back heavily to class-based (and "role-based") in 4e. That is not progress, it limits options. I like simplicity in the rules-- I am having a blast...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Just a quick shout out to drothgery, who independently arrived at the same points that I did: (1) SWSE multiclassing is simple but effective, (2) this one is neither, so (3) there will be lots more core classes. Meh. I am not impressed.

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Daeger summed up my opinion perfectly here. I don't mind having a *single* multiclass feat, but requiring another one for each power swap is absurd. What I find baffling about it, is that Star Wars SAGA has such a simple, elegant solution to effective multiclassing. Why not just emulate that...

What I've Learned From Painting My First Mini in 7+ Years

Mini Eyes I paint minis for table use at games, not for shows and such, so this might not work for you. But, I get *great* results with doing eyes using Micron pens. I just paint the whites in-- usually easy following the mini's outline, then add the iris with a dot from a Micron pen...

    DUNGEON of DREAD!

What in the heck are those freaky looking things in posts #38 and #39?? The kind of remind me of a Sam Keith comic book.

"spectre of the black rose" or "elminster in hell"?

Aha! SO MUCH BETTER! Read those. :) Or, pick up one of Paul Kemp's trilogies-- great stuff.

"spectre of the black rose" or "elminster in hell"?

Spectre of the Rose was mediocre, but Elminster in Hell was terrible. So, you could either take the lesser of two evils, or just skip both. I would recommend skipping both.

A face only a mother could love: My soft spot for abombinations of characters

Corsair- Holy cow, I have found a kindred soul! I, too, am all about scouring through books for the most obscure, oddball character combinations that I can cobble together. (Dannyalcatraz is another one of us, by the way.) The key, I think, is the sheer interest in the complexity itself, the...

    Speed Racer Trailer

GSH- You are probably right, except for that segment of male genXers who loved them some Speed Racer. It looks like the cartoon to me! I will go!

Matt- What are you saying here-- that Buzz is a prince among men, or a petty little dictator? (My history is failing me. Or maybe I am failing it. Heh.)

Chicago Gameday is March 15th: Aftermath...

Rvalle- I think Vyvyan wants us to choose which Bo9S character we want when we sign up. I am taking that as a subtle hint that we have time to bone up on the class abilities in advance of playing a 17th level character. That is how I am taking it, anyway. ;) :D

    Heroes Season Two Resuming?

Thanks, folks! I agree with you, Mark. Hey, I would go watch most anything featuring Masi Oka-- I love that guy! EDIT: Admittedly, he might bring in a smaller female audience than some of the other Heroes cast members. LOL
