Why a save for Ray of Enfeeblement?

Ray of Enfeeblement says there's no saving through. Why does the Devourer with Ray of Enfeeblement (Sp) show DC 14 in its description if the spell doesn't need a save?

    9th Level Spell Foresight: Useless?

Let's say you have a party wizard with Foresight on and there is an enemy wizard about to scry/teleport into your location. How many rounds would you give the party wizard to react?

When do you award experience to Dead characters?

These are the same kinds of players that play video games either on "Easy" or play them with cheat codes because they can't stand losing. I know the kind.

    Spellcasting for a turned creature

Can a vampire wizard, once turned, cast teleport to get away from the cleric? I didn't think that being turned stopped you from doing things that required concentration, but I just wanted to make sure.

When do you award experience to Dead characters?

Ahh, I was looking at the PHB - that's why I couldn't find it. Thanks for looking it up, dcollins. I knew I saw it somewhere.

    Quick question on the Ninja

Yes, there is one pool of points (based off your wisdom and Ninja level) and each activation costs one point, regardless of which power you use. I currently have a ninja that's almost 7th level and he has not needed to use Ki Dodge, but I use Ghost Step a lot. Also, since it doesn't say "as...

    Wounding weapon(s)

No errata - it's powerful, but not broken. Good question on the throwing weapons, though shuriken are ammunition and can't get wounding.

When do you award experience to Dead characters?

Hmm, I retract my RAW statement. I just looked in the PHB and didn't find the language I thought was in there. Then I went to google groups and saw a long thread arguing the point. It appears it needs to be clarified (therefore, the DM should choose when the character gets the XP).

    Quick question on the Ninja

Both Ghost Step and Ki Dodge pull from the same Ki power point pool, so that doesn't make sense.

    Wounding weapon(s)

Man, can you imagine rapid shot with one of those? How about casting Hunter's Mercy before shooting for the near auto-crit in addition? Yow. Glad it doesn't exist :)

When do you award experience to Dead characters?

I believe the RAW is to give the XP after you raise them. IMC, I've house-ruled it to give a negative level for 1,000 XP times previous level minus one. Much easier to handle (especially for combat trackers such as DM Genie).

Faerun map with red dragon habitat area?

    That looks right. Thanks!

Do you ever use item creation feats?

It sounds like you have a DM problem. Perhaps you should confront the DM as a group.

Faerun map with red dragon habitat area?

I remember seeing a map of faerun with a red colored areas where red dragons patrolled or lived. Does anyone remember where this map could be found? Was it on WotC's web site or in a sourcebook?

Do you ever use item creation feats?

If you don't create items, then you are losing potential money. Let's say you find 5 +1 longswords. If you sell them, you will get 11500 / 2 = 5750 gold for them. Then you can only buy a magic item that's worth 5750 gold. However, if you sell them and then have a spellcaster make something...

    Drow and spell-like abilities

Rename "darkness" to "reduce light" and you will have a cleaner, easier to understand spell. If it's dark, it stays dark. If someone tries to shine a light into it, it only brightens to shadowy illumination.

Do you ever use item creation feats?

Magical Artisan is from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS). You pick an item creation feat you already have and your XP and base gold cost for creating an item is 75% of normal.

Do you ever use item creation feats?

As far as downtime for non-spellcasters are concerned, it's simple. We say something like, "the wizard spends 50 days creating items for the party and the rest of the party relaxes and enjoys the downtime." We might add a few extra days for the wizard to relax (if that's in his/her persona)...

Do you ever use item creation feats?

Our group liberally uses item creation feats. The XP we lose gets regained between levels, so it's not a big issue for us. When our group gets lots of cash from adventures and converts it to items, it's like doubling our net wealth. When someone has the Craft Artisan feat, it's even better. It's...

Is the Harper Pin a slotless item?

Ahhh, didn't see that (obviously). Thanks!
