9th Level Spell Foresight: Useless?

Well, for one, you never again walk into traps. :)

You might not know *what* is there, but you will know that something *is* there.

At least, that's how I run the spell.

With Foresight the Tomb of Horrors would become a walk in the park. :D

The key word in the description imho is "impending" danger. You sense it as you reach for the door- uh-oh, spidey sense says this is a bad idea!

However, it won't warn you about someone cloaked by a mind blank. :]

Let's say you have a party wizard with Foresight on and there is an enemy wizard about to scry/teleport into your location. How many rounds would you give the party wizard to react?

I would probably tell the wizard "Look alert. Trouble coming," at the instant the enemy wizard starts to cast scry. I'd give him a small bonus to see the scrying sensor (foresight would be telling him where to look), and another burst of danger sense as the wizard casts teleport.

A sensible wizad could make good use of that amount of knowledge.

I disagree, Jester, about the Mind Blank thing. Your Foresight would go off as soon as they made a move against it. You divine that something will happen to you, not your enemy. If you want to go down that route, a personal Mind Blank would keep someone from getting anything from their Foresight.
