I'm only really a casual fan of SG-1, but I usually manage to "get" what's going on... I caught the last half of this ep, and I enjoyed it. I just hope the alternate-timeline SG-1 team doesn't fade out of existence when this is all over. I like them.

I saw it, and I was disappointed. The part about the prehistoric dragon did grab me, especially the parts where it was running from the larger male and the aerial fight, but after that it went downhill. It was just... boring. When the "making of" part came on, I just changed the channel. Ditto...

Regarding their alignment, I think Neutral could be appropriate... they have a somewhat lawful society (remember Darby O'Gill and the Little Folk? ;)), and adhere as ruthlessly to the letter of their agreements as any baatezu. Not that they couldn't be interpreted as Chaotic Neutral, either, though.
