Two Married Wizards Trying to magically make a Baby Question...

Is time travel an option? You could shift forward the 1,000,000 years (yeh, that's a guess) it will take for Golarion to reach Starfinder and then have a test-tube baby.

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2e: Actual Play Experience

I like the concept. A friend and I were recently talking about Merlin. I was suggesting that in lore he was a Druid. And we were lamenting that the DnD culture has gone with a much more modern druidism view which neither of us thought fit the genre. Not that there couldn't be beastmasters, folks...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2e: Actual Play Experience

I don't remember concluding the Wizard was weak, but of the several Wizards I played, they all multi-classed. Mix in some Fighter and you can wear armor and swing a two-handed sword. During the weak and moderate challenge fights, you can go knock heads and save your spells. Not your character...

    Pathfinder 2E Rate Pathfinder 2E

I don't doubt your informal survey of hundreds of DMs, but there are DMs who spill the beans to the players under various circumstances. I certainly do. My friends do. I don't know about the Capn, his motivations, or theories, but we do it mostly to speed up play in a skirmish with lots of...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you use cities in your campaigns?

In so much as a city, village, or frontier civilization can be a setting for adventure, my guess is I use them about 25% of the time. I prefer my games be tales of humanity, generally humanity expanding into uncivilized areas or exploration. So the players get a decent dose of wilderness, but...

Pathfinder 1E Stuff That You Wish Paizo Had Done For Pathfinder 1E?

I mentioned this, and this conversation, to a friend today. While I don't usually buy adventures (in favor of writing my own) my friends do buy them. This particular friend has bought a lot over the years and ends up loaning them to my other friends. What he said he missed was Dungeon Magazine...

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E's reception?

Agreed. I don't doubt them right now when they say times are good right now. They just released a Core Rulebook. Those tend to get widely purchased and tend to have higher cover prices. Come year three I'll be curious if they can carry the same staff. That might be one of the few external...

Pathfinder 2E Biggest Confusions Moving from 1e to 2e?

Over our 18 month trial of 2e... Spell descriptions were a frequent trip-up for us. Not only would we confuse 1e and 2e spells, but we would confuse 2e spells with other 2e spells. The spells are going to have the same names as before, but not act the same. You're going to be facing a whole...

Pathfinder 1E Stuff That You Wish Paizo Had Done For Pathfinder 1E?

I think PF1 could use more adventures, and I'd welcome something other than Paizo APs. A smaller product containing a single adventure that wasn't tied to a specific location would be handy. I have a homebrew setting where ocean travel is important and I had trouble dealing both with Paizo's...

The D&D Edition Complexity Thread- How do you order Edition Complexity?

Complexity: Least < OD&D - 1e/2e - 4e - 5e - 3e/3.5e - PF2 - PF1 > Most I'll note that my ranking of complexity isn't my ranking of how enjoyable I have found each version. Also, I'm okay with not having a kitchen-sink set of rules and often find that to be freeing.

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E's reception?

Answering for myself... If I were speaking casually to a friend, I might say I was "set aside", but what I would really mean is that I feel Paizo went a different direction with its toolset of rules. I would also think that Paizo would disagree with that statement because I suspect they're more...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

I was messing around with Roll20 -- my PF1 games uses it in place of battle mats and miniatures even though all but one of the players is present in the same room. (Being computerized is nice; dynamic lighting is cool.) Anyways, I remembered they had a "find a game" feature. So I looked for PF1...

D&D General Do your players map?

Not anymore. Typically maps are imported into Roll20 and either the map is small enough that it isn't worth the effort to map, or we use "fog of war" features to reveal parts of the map or "dynamic lighting" so that the pogs show what the characters can see.

D&D 5E (2014) REALLY REALLY BAD DM ADVICE

(My favorite.) Orcs are very much like electrons. They don't have a location so much as an orbit. :)

Pathfinder 2E What's the deal with 3rd party PF2E Adventure "support"??

Since you're naming specific versions of D&D, 1e and 2e. Does anyone else remember Judges Guild? They supported lots of early game systems. I remember them supporting C&S, DragonQuest, and even Superhero 2044.

Does "P" represent a 1 or the highest value? ;)

Pathfinder 2E What do you steal from PF2 for your PF1 games?

We have not. We were aware that it existed.

Pathfinder 2E What do you steal from PF2 for your PF1 games?

Yeh, some people like that. I only kind of like it in certain circumstances. A local game I'm in brought that with us recently when we switched from PF2 to 5e. I didn't think it worked so well for him in PF2 and it isn't any better in 5e. The trouble is that I think he over uses it and that...

Pathfinder 2E What do you steal from PF2 for your PF1 games?

One of the games in which I'm involved stayed with PF1. (The other game played PF2 through the playtest and for several months after the release, then moved on to 5e.) I don't really see any major pieces of PF2 as tempting to bring back to PF1. Several months back I would have said the "three...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

While this isn't sales data, and perhaps still too early to make a conclusion, Google Trends suggests to me Pathfinder seems to be neither gaining or losing ground. Here's the 5-year chart; draw your own conclusions...
