D&D 5E (2014) No One Plays High Level?

Well, I only run games, don't play, but I find by 10th level the PCs are absolutely as powerful as I want to see them, spells are unpredictable, class powers are strong, and figuring out balanced encounters is difficult. It starts being way more work for me than I enjoy, so if I'm not enjoying...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e - Tales of the Old Margreve (Roll20) Campaign Recaps

I loved it! Had a blast, the players really enjoyed it too. I took a lot of Kobold material and molded it into my own story (and all of Castle Ravenloft!). The campaign ended as if we could pick up next week and keep going (it ends with initiative rolled) but I was ready to try something...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

I'm running Spelljammer too and haven't seen any particular problems. I even let NPCs so far use laser crossbows and such that you can power up with charges. Seems to fit the theme.

    D&D 5E (2024) Boring things that might mean something…

I guess I'm just old now, but I still miss the monster statblocks from yesteryear that had number appearing and climate/terrain/activity cycle and treasure and diet. Would also love to see a general morale indicator.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e - Tales of the Old Margreve (Roll20) Campaign Recaps

You are welcome! Thanks for the kind words. We are currently playing Spelljammer now and I will eventually start posting some of those.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

Have they mentioned any changes to the Concentration mechanic for spells, or less spells that require it? Or just a rebalancing. Just curious.

D&D 5E (2014) Justin Alexander's review of Shattered Obelisk is pretty scathing

I ran Lost Mine twice, and the original is still one of my favorite Top 10 D&D adventures from any era. The second time I spliced it with the other starter set as there is tons of overlap. I had plans to introduce Phandelver as a no-man's land between Venomfang and the White Dragon as they...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e - Tales of the Old Margreve (Roll20) Campaign Recaps

I haven't been on this site in a very long time and realized I never finished posting my recaps for Margreve, so here they are, 16 final stories. https://app.box.com/s/tz4m33io6ifg6wkowk80o4amiwyn6yfs https://app.box.com/s/x96ljp3satsnh9imy4g95hd2p108f9rv...

    D&D Movie/TV Rate the D&D movie

I think they went the correct route in making a widely acceptable D&D movie for mass appeal. Personally, I would want a grittier D&D movie more like Conan the Barbarian,. but that's just me.

    D&D Movie/TV Rate the D&D movie

I gave it a 7. Was fun, lighthearted, and did (mostly) feel like a D&D session. Chris Pine really held it together. Well, the whole cast was good. I wasn't bowled over by the movie, but it was certainly good enough, and I expect they will get some sequels and spin-offs.

ToV Black Flag Playtest 2: Magic, Luck, Fighter, Wizards!

Right, they have an extensive list of options, and I think there's even a rule for a "signature move" which is their default move, so even if the player doesn't explicitly say "I'm doing such and such" or forgets, it's assumed the character would have tried anyway. Thh Mighty Deeds are very...

ToV Black Flag Playtest 2: Magic, Luck, Fighter, Wizards!

DCC has Mighty Deeds for the fighter that lets you do whatever you can think of, within confines of the die roll and the circumstances at hand. It's the best iteration of the fighter class I've ever seen. Also, since DCC relies heavily on crit tables, the Fighter has the best, most damaging...

    D&D General Best D&D Novels

I think I read Saga of Old City and Artifact of Evil around the same time I started playing 1e, so they're both ridiculously nostalgic for me. The later books were not as good and too verbose, but I did quite enjoy the first two.

D&D General Best Adventure Path (spanning 10+ levels) of all time?

Also, I found online walkthroughs and supplementary material that makes CoS even better and more fleshed out in ways I wouldn't have been able to do on my own.
