D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Epic Boon at 19th Class Level or Total Character Level?

Ahhh, of course. Ad Hoc. Yes, that interpretation makes it clear that DnD Builds is misreading the rules. I saw a video where he multiclassed a character without that character having a minimum 13 in the primary ability score of one of the classes, so he is not infallible. Thanks again, Ad Hoc!

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Epic Boon at 19th Class Level or Total Character Level?

Thanks, Clint. Do you understand "Epic Boon" at 19th level in each of the character class Features charts to only apply to an Epic Boon Feat and not other categories of Feats? A literal reading of the PHB would suggest this, given that "Epic Boon" is specified. However, I have seen Chris in...

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Epic Boon at 19th Class Level or Total Character Level?

Thanks for helping out. I am glad that it appears I was reading the book correctly. However, could you, Ad Hoc, please explain this: I understand how a 14/4 character going to 15/4 would not get a Feat; whereas a 15/3 character going to 15/4 would. That is, in fact, the rationale for why DnD...

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Epic Boon at 19th Class Level or Total Character Level?

Hello everyone, I was watching the Youtuber DnD Builds create a 2024 character and at 21:25 of this video, he mentions that at 19th total character level of the character he was building (a 15 Druid/5 Fighter), the character could select an Epic Boon Feat with his Feat selection for 4th level...

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Fighting Style Feats

Cool. I am fine with it. There are so many different martial options now, it's sort of nice for Fighters/Paladins/Rangers to have certain options not available to Barbarians/Monks/Rogues, especially given that many of the class features of Barbarian/Monks/Rogues consist of their own fighting style.

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Fighting Style Feats

Right, Oofta, so that is the prerequisite that I referred to in my OP, where I reference pages 209-210. So, am I then correct in understanding that the only way a Bard (to use your example) could take a Fighting Style Feat would be to take at least a single level of Fighter or at least two...

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Fighting Style Feats

Fascinating, Oofta. I am down with this...but what about the prerequisite for the Fighting Style Feats that I quoted in my original post? Would the thinking not be, a Bard does not have the "Fighting Style Feature" (only Fighters, Paladins, and Rangers have it), therefore a Bard may not choose a...

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Fighting Style Feats

Hi everyone, I am really enjoying the 2024 Player's Handbook. I am creating a NPC using character creation rules and I just realized I should probably ask for clarification with regard to Fighting Style Feats. Am I correct in understanding that: The only classes that can take a Fighting Style...

New review critical of DUNE: PART TWO based on the depiction of Chani

Thanks. It has been a few months....can you tell me how much time is there between the proposal and the Fremen bowing? I recall it being quite short -- a couple minutes; or is it longer? What reaction does she give when Paul proposes marriage to the Princess? By the way, no one ever claimed...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Oh, I see...thanks for clarifying. It would be a shame if we were just raising up a generation of rules followers as a consequence, but perhaps not. I always liked the DIY ethic of role-playing, just like in punk music.

New review critical of DUNE: PART TWO based on the depiction of Chani

I think Villeneuve, did make a massive mistake and I do think it was in attempting to better the author (I do not know what the "while also appealing to fan service" refers to, I do not think Villeneuve was doing that). Maybe I have it backwards? Who knows? I was very much disappointed by the...

New review critical of DUNE: PART TWO based on the depiction of Chani

I hope you are right! That would be great. The execution was very confusing if that is what Villeneuve was going for. And, why so many changes to Herbert's story?

New review critical of DUNE: PART TWO based on the depiction of Chani

Wow, I hope you are right! What makes you view Chani's character in this way? Why did she leave him right after his proposal? Why was her departure edited such that it was made to appear connected to her being upset with the proposal? Even then, even if Chani is now an opponent to Atreides...

New review critical of DUNE: PART TWO based on the depiction of Chani

Hi Deset, Perhaps you are upset? Maybe not?...it's hard to discern emotion from text. Anyway, "I'll bite," "own it," "if you want to pretend," seems a tad aggressive. Maybe your having a bad day? No worries, it happens to me too. Don't worry, though, I'm not coming for you. I just wrote an...
