Absolutely! And it also resulted in the tag line "That's not a spilled vanilla shake!!!!"

Order of the Stick: How long will they put up with Miko?

Yeah...I initially cheered it, as a sort of knee-jerk reaction, then once the initial "Yeaa-ahhh!" wore off...yeah...it seemed kind of harsh. I actually started to feel bad for her. Thing is, Miko is unquestionably being a bitch. She's personifying the worst traits/abuses in the paladin...

Order of the Stick: How long will they put up with Miko?

That's why I said ANOTHER perspective. As in, mine. Apparently your initial observation comes from how you've seen paladins played either in your group, or in a group that you've gamed with. OK, cool, that's your experience. Well, my perspective is based on my experiences, and I was offering a...

Order of the Stick: How long will they put up with Miko?

Whoa whoa whoa.....hold on a moment... Permit another perspective to enter in here, mon. Paladins in my campaign uphold Law. And in my campaign definition, there's three levels of Law. Divine Law, as handed down and enforced by the gods and their agents Temporal Law, as created and enforced by...

Ronald MacDonald Charged in Wendy's Theft

Clearly this is the work of the "Evil Grimace", which is what Grimace was actually called when the character first came out. :)

If our Hobby has a problem, it is the difficulty of interpersonal communcation.

Allllllllllll I'm saying is that I don't buy the concept that gamers, as a group, are necessarily smarter than non-gamers. I've known some perfectly bright people who don't play and aren't interested in RPGs, and I know some "dumber than advertised" types who DO play. :)

    Hated Heroes?

Maybe a hero has low Charisma because he simply can't deal with people? Take, for instance, Sir Blathermouth the Unfortunate, who's just single-handedly defeated a dragon, at great personal risk, and saved a town. There's a gathering on the town green, a rally of sorts, to honor the man. Mayor...

So You All Meet In A Bar...

My favorite "You all meet in a bar" campaign start was one I pulled on my group when we were doing a new set of Forgotten Realms characters. With the exception of two people who wanted to play a married couple, no one else knew anyone, and everyone mutually agreed that that would be a good idea...

I got kicked out of my group!

Thia and Wayne: Thank you, thank you....And of course you do realize that post was the abridged version. ;) I think one of the more outrageous statements from Female B was when she told my wife that she'd love to still be friends with her, but for the fact that my wife was married to me. The...

I got kicked out of my group!

It's my experience that if people have a notion in their heads they won't let a little thing like hard evidence or reality change their minds. Some people simply cannot be reasoned with. There was an earlier thread about bad player horror stories, or something like that. I posted a long...

    What's your morning ritual?

    1. Wake up 2. Put in lenses 3. Use toilet 4. Put Half-n-Half and Equal in the coffee that my wife has already brewed 5. Net surf/check email while drinking coffee and maybe eating breakfast 6. Make lewd proposals to my wife, knowing full well that there's no time to follow thru 7. Loudly declare...

    Quitting a group & starting anew..ground rules?

Hmmm...interesting stuff. I tend to think that having a set of rules like this will attract a certain type of player, and that's the whole point. Even though I philosophically disagree with this whole list of rules approach, I think I can understand where Emirikol's coming from. It's the "I've...

Today a sick duck in my town. Tomorrow ... the Chicken Holocaust.

But haven't you heard? Chicken Little has succumbed to the avian flu! 'strue!!!!

If our Hobby has a problem, it is the difficulty of interpersonal communcation.

Interesting thread.... Funny, of late I had asked my wife why it seems that so many gamers I've known are flaming arse-holes? I mean, does the game attract them or something, and is it related to the ability (or lack thereof) to communicate in a civil fashion with others? Because for every...

What do I need to know in a FR game?

Tell me about it. Right now, my group is in the Silver Marches. Which means they stand a medium to excellent chance of possibly encountering: Lady Alustriel of Silverymoon Khelbun Blackstaff Wulfgar Drizzt? King Bruenor Battlehammer And guess how many of the above they'll end up running into...

What do I need to know in a FR game?

Here are my hard and fast things about the Realms that spring to mind: 1. It works as "high fantasy"...it doesn't work as "edgy, grim and gritty" fantasy. 2. There sure are a lot of gods around...and they all are trying to win more followers! 3. The concept of actual countries is actually a...
