Deflect Arrows - Wither the Reflex Save?

I like the idea of automatic success. It makes the feat much more attractive. And if you want it, you still have to take Improved Unarmed Strike first. So you will not see it very often except for monks. Plus, it can only be used once per round.

    Weapon Abilities Activation Duration?

No duration. Standard action to activate or deactivate.

    Just wondering

I am currently playing in my friend's C&C game and he is using some of the Hackmaster adventures. I love the artwork. As for playing Hackmaster, I prefer C&C when I am not playing Living Greyhawk.

    avoiding unforseen AoO's

I suppose you could always tumble. However, tumbling is always at half your speed, so you would always move at half. Anyone whose speed is reduced due to armor or encumbrance cannot tumble at all. Also, tumble cannot be used untrained, so anyone wanting to use the skill must have at least 1...

    Cleric Feats

You do know that there is errata for Divine Metamagic that requires you to have the actual metamagic feat in order to take Divine Metamagic. So if you want Divine Metamagic: Maximize you also need to have the Maximize Spell feat.

D&D: What Edition is Next, Really?

Here's a small list of things I expect from the next edition, whatever it is called and whenever it is released (hopefully not for quite some time): 1. A few more core (PHB) races and classes. 2. Skills will be redone. Some skills will be folded into others or into a new skill altogether...

Mounted attackes of oppertunity and more

It's one opportunity so the target would only get one AoO. He could choose either the horse or one of the riders, although if you ruled that the paladin was providing cover for the halfling, then the AoO would go to either horse or paladin. Edit: I did not realize Rules of the Game addressed...

    Save Vs Silence

This is correct. If the spellcaster targets the silence spell on an unwilling target, the unwilling target gets a saving throw against the spell. If someone moves into an area of magical silence there is no saving throw for them. They benefit and/or suffer from the effect of the spell.

    Readied Actions

Using a supernatural ability always takes a standard action unless otherwise specified in the description of the ability itself. Among other places, check the last line of the standard action chart in the PHB on page 141. Further, they do not provoke an AoO. Finally, you do not have to make a...

    5ft. step triggered by Speak?

The PHB does not make it hard and fast like that. In fact, it says that you can even speak when it is not your turn. The DM may limit this at times, however. Here's the quote.

    Readied Actions

If it's the first round of combat and the charging opponents have won initiative and can get to the warriors in one round, yes. That's what losing initiative means. It's not that they are unaware of the attackers, but when the moment of truth comes the defenders either froze or hesitated and...

    Traps and Search-Need Help Quick!

I'm a little late, but it is the first NFL Sunday of this season. Of course you can take 20 to Search for a trap, if you have the time. It's the Disable Device check you cannot take 20 with.

Area effect "target" you can't see

Good question. The spell description says it does not stop magical effects like rays and the like, so I don't think it would prevent a fireball from being targeted within the cloud. If it did do such things the spell would specifiy that.

    when you MULTILCLASS

Yes, you add the BAB and Saves from each class together to get your total BAB and base saves.

    Improved Sunder

The PH says you provoke an AoO "just as attacking a held object does." So if the Improved Sunder feat allows you to sunder a held or carried object without provoking an AoO, it would also allow you to sunder a carried or worn object without provoking an AoO.

Spring Attack allows Movement+Attack as single Attack action?

It's a stretch of an interpretation. Normally you may move your speed and make one attack or vice versa. This feat allows you to make that one attack in between your movement, so to speak, with the added perk of not provoking an AoO from your target for the movement. This feat does NOT grant...

Yes, that's the case with a reach weapon.

    When a cleric is casting..

The core rules do not require a divine caster to speak his deity's name as part of the verbal component of casting a spell. It does require the divine caster to handle or manipulate in some way his holy symbol when the spell requires a Divine Focus as a material component. So to answer your...

That's not a house rule. See Primitive Screwhead's post above. It's a core rule.

    Human Monk in Living Greyhawk

There are many ways to go with your monk. With your ability scores, I might drop either Int or Cha to 8 and boost Str to 12 or 14 if you drop both. I would choose Balance, Escape Artist, Jump, and Tumble as my skills. These are not usually used by many other characters, at least not at...
