    Current Favorite Class?

My favorite is Cleric. Healing and heavy armor and decent fighting ability. (I might have prefered Druid because they also get some decent offensive spells, if poorer armor, but I refuse to play one because keeping track of everything you can turn into is simply far more work than its worth!)

Solo adventures, would you buy them?

The Tunnels and Trolls people have put out a bunch of them. GM? They don' need no steenkin' GM!

Encompassing Asian Elements in a setting

There is very little difference, in theory, between a knight and a samurai. They are both feudal warrior vassels of an overlord, sometimes with land and/or vassels of their own, and sometimes not. Ninja aren't Asian, they are very specifically Japanese. (Well, so are samurai.) However, there...

    TPK scenario

I would have been so out of there you would have thought I'd gone invisible! On the other hand, I've seen this sort of thing happen before. Of course, I've seen it backfire a LOT more!

    What's your favorite PHB spell?

??? Cure (whatever) Wounds, of course!

    No Harry Potter RPG?

All I know about HP is what I've seen in the first two movies. Saw the first one when it came out, and the second one last night on the tube. From my hazy recollections of the first one, and what I saw last night, I do not want to see a HP RPG. As far as I can tell, JKR wants to teach kids...

Do your players expect discounts for party made magic items?

We usually do it as party treasure for items that are party property (wands and such), and everyone pays for anything else they want at maker's cost, or a little more (depending on the maker). But I usually brew up, and give to party members free, potions of Cure Light when playing a Cleric...

    civic magic items

Gotta be careful with those Decanters of Endless Water. Otherwise you not only turn the kingdom into a swamp, you eventually drown the whole world! Of course, it would take so long that even Elves might not realize what was happening for a few generations.

Designing worlds for fun and... well, fun

He's got the right idea. Draw the map first, then decide where everything goes. Of course, he may have to redraw it if he decides that a kingdom or something needs to be isolated or whatever. I always draw a rough world or major continent map first and stew about where the big stuff will be...

Should I upgrade from GURPS 3rd Edition, to 4th?

Ok, here's the real question that needs to be asked: What books do your players have? It's one thing for you to go out and buy a ton of stuff, but if they have (or feel the need) to as well... But if you do go with 4E, remember that there's no rule that says you have to give the players 100...

If you could choose only one...

As I started GMing with Runequest I voted for BRP. Of the others: Basic/Expert D&D would be my next choice. OD&D doesn't have enough rules to bother with. I've never read or played either of the other two.

    ? re Polytheistic Worlds

And why can't the farmer pray equally to the gods of agriculture and the weather? In fact, he'd be pretty dumb not to. As a farmer, you really don't want to get either one of them pissed off at you.

    Laws of Nature

The question here is, would we fall down laughing before or after killing him?

Killing innocents - a paladin thread in disguise ;-)

If she'd let them chain her up the bad guys would have been in possession of the stones (all but one) that would allow them to do really Bad Things! All other considerations are irrelevent. So how did the party get on board the ship without it becoming common knowledge that there were TWO...

    Laws of Nature

We still poke occasional fun at the old dungeons for never having any toilets, even when they were brimmimg with human guards. As for our characters, that's up to the players. Mostly its taken care of off camera, but some will make a point of one thing or another. Usually food.

Killing innocents - a paladin thread in disguise ;-)

Ah yes, the old "magic maguffin that will do horrible, terrible things if it falls into the hands of the Bad Guys(tm), but you can't destroy it" trick. IMNSHO This is the worst of trite railroading a GM can stoop to. Add to that the situation he put your party in (note the impossibility of...

    Planet of the Priests

Good and Evil would wipe each other out, and the Neutrals would rule the world! ...or maybe not.

Paladin: Tricked Into Killing the Wrong Target

In the first instance there is no question that the minon had it coming. He was being Chaotic Stupid! The second is more open to interpertation, and is why I never play Paladins.

    The party of five

Definitely the four basic food groups, plus a fifth wheel. Knowing that there will be a fair mix of dungeon, urban and wilderness adventures I'd say Sorcerer instead of Wizard (high CHA to be the party's 'face man') and a Ranger as the fifth wheel. Of course, there should probably be at...
