D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

Your stealth is completely useless. You didn't see your enemies lying in ambush, and you walked past them. They see you automatically. You're dead. You're interpreting the stealth rules like D&D is some Skyrim-like videogame. It isn't. EDIT: you edited your post. Teleportation won't help when...

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

You're exploring a dark dungeon (I'm guessing your custom race has darkvision). You're using pass without trace to be very stealthy. Your 10th level sorcerer walks into a room, apparently empty. Unfortunately, the room isn't empty. 4 succubus lie in ambush (a pretty normal encounter for a 10th...

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

I'll probably have a lot to say later, because this build seems to rely almost entirely on Tasha content that I do not own yet (not just the subclass, but also a custom race and several feats). Some quick preliminary points: no perception skill and low Wis on a build that is supposed to scout...

Dragonlance [Dragonlance/Faerun] Anyone here met any Cataclysm/Wall of the Faithless defenders?

There is no wall of “bad gods”, but there’s Ao rule of worship. The power of a diety is derived from the number of its worshippers and their zeal. So, gods who do a crappy job will see their worshippers leave them and flock to better gods, costing them great power. It works.

    [IC] Eberron: The Plumbers

Liutbrand notices Ogham looking at the destroyed warforged. Is destroyed the right term, or would it be more appropriate to say "dead"? Probably not the right time to ask. He takes a few steps, standing on the side of his warforged companion "Well, dammit. Do you think any one of them could...

D&D General Do you allow "crossplaying" at your table? Has it ever caused problems?

Nobody in my groups has showed interest in doing that in the last 20 years. Last time I saw it action, we were all 14 year olds and a couple of male players tried playing female characters. As you can expect given our age at the time, things were not handled in a particularly mature way, but...

No, you proved no such thing. Make the build and we'll evaluate it.

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

Yeah, I’ve had enough of you constantly adjusting your “build” on the fly to respond to any potential criticism. Post a full level 6 character sheet of this marvelous sorcerer of yours. Skills, feats, ability scores, spell selection, everything. Then maybe we can have a reasonable conversation.

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

Yeah, what Undrave said and more. Expertise to stealth (and possibly to the amazingly important perception skill), probably an higher dex score, cunning action (bonus action hide, disengage, and if anything goes wrong, dash!). Also more hp, most likely more AC, and almost certainly more...

Btw, I don’t know how you guys handle stealth, surprise and being hidden, but in my games a sorcerer trying to scout ahead to get the drop on a group of enemies would probably end up dead very very fast.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Sage Advice 2.6 Update

As a said in another thread: the Wall gets censored (for lack of a better word) out of SCAG, presumably to avoid hurting somebody's feelings, but this phrase remains intact: "Some [referring to unclaimed souls] are charged with serving as guides for other lost souls, while others are...

Eh, I suppose a dissonant whispers spammer is the closest thing to a warlord/enabling leader we'll get out of 5e. I can dig that.

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

A level 6 sorcerer has 6 sorcery points. Casting a 3d level psion spell costs 3, applying twinned (or heightened) spell would cost 3 more. The sorcerer is out of points. As a bonus action, he spends a 3d level slot and gets 3 points back. Next round, as a bonus action, he spends another 3d level...

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

Xanathar's rules are optional rules in an optional supplement. Yeah, if your group is using those rues, psionic sorcery is the only way to cast a spell with material components and being "immune" to being counterspelled. Cool, I guess? I suppose in the campaigns you play having enemies with...

Dragonlance [Dragonlance/Faerun] Anyone here met any Cataclysm/Wall of the Faithless defenders?

Interesting. Through errata, the Wall gets censored (for lack of a better word) out of SCAG, presumably to avoid hurting somebody's feelings, but this phrase remains intact: "Some [referring to unclaimed souls] are charged with serving as guides for other lost souls, while others are...

Material components? You mean the ones you can ignore on 99% of spells just by walking around with a staff? Sounds irrelevant to me. Being able to apply other metamagic isn't a big deal, at all. You're freaking out mate, psionic sorcery doesn't break anything that other sorcerers couldn't break...

D&D 5E (2014) Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

@Hohige Dude, all the stuff you've been freaking out about was already possible with subtle spell (straight outta the PHB!), which, btw, only costs 1 sorcery point and is thus vastly more efficient. How did your group deal with a sorcerer with subtle spell until yesterday? You can deal with...

It’s strange how so many people online thinks of suggestion as a completely overpowered spell. It is exactly as powerful as the DM allows it to be.

    D&D 5E (2014) Killed Me a Lawful Stupid Paladin

I think some posters are being way too harsh on the OP. A player (who apparently isn’t even new to d&d) decides to be kind of prick, hogging the spotlight and provoking unnecessary fights, even after being telegraphed that was going to be extremely dangerous. Seems to me this player was testing...

Dragonlance [Dragonlance/Faerun] Anyone here met any Cataclysm/Wall of the Faithless defenders?

Ok, so the main argument against the wall seems to be that, since it inflicts suffering on souls that aren't necessarily evil, it should be under heavy criticism by the gods of good, and Kelemvor should tear it down or modify it. The good gods and Kelemvor not doing that is seen as hypocritical...
