    D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls on Settings

No. Eilistraee's appearance there led many of her followers to Waterdeep (and they are not being hunted down or killed on sight). Some of her priestesses sought the support of the Harpers to create a glade dedicated to her within the city walls (I guess to strengthen relationships with humans in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls on Settings

I doubt that the change of attitude towards drow in-world was due from the introduction of Eilistraee. from the FR Wiki (which takes this info from Demihuma Deities): They managed to build friendly relationships in some regions of Faerun, but they weren't liked or accepted from the get go...

D&D 5E (2014) Listened to latest "Lore you should know" and......

What they have done up to now, with some novels tying into the APs, and their MMO including a lot of contents specifically about those APs, contradicts this statement of theirs. Their declared approach of multiplatform storytelling also contradicts their statement. Basically each of their...

Yes, that's true--although it's only the section that details the Sword Coast that has been written from an in-universe viewpoint, while the sections about the Realms as a whole, the races, and the gods are more objective. But then, the information presented there isn't detailed and allows...

I don't know where people are getting that there's no more FR canon. There is. It's much more loose than before, as the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide is not as detailed as the previous FR products, but it's still there, and the lore of the setting is still the basis for WotC's work on their APs :/

D&D 5E (2014) Listened to latest "Lore you should know" and......

The novel line being licensed out to The Ed Greenwood's Group is actually the best outcome in my mind, so I really hope that it'll happen.

It depends. Ed Greenwood thinks that it's unlikely that the novel line will be restarted, unless 1)the movie does really well 2)an eventual novelization of the movie also does well.

D&D 5E (2014) Listened to latest "Lore you should know" and......

On the subject of "hard-canon", it's unlikely that WotC will ever provide that as of now. They have indeed provided the new status quo of the Realms, tho, painted in broad strokes--trying to appease as many fans as possible, bringing back a lot of places, characters, and gods, but also keeping...

D&D 5E (2014) Listened to latest "Lore you should know" and......

I'm surprised that no one mentioned that some of your questions have actually been answered--albeit not in a detailed way--more than 1 year ago. The Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide provide some of the info that you're looking for, especially if combined with the latest Erin Evan's and Ed...

D&D 5E (2014) We have to kill a deity -Tyranny spoilers!

Yeah, but what I meant is that if his main form is still confined in his realm (could be), then he won't be able to personally help the PC with killing another god (aside from sending an avatar, but that wouldn't have a deep effect against greater deities like Shar--it would surely help take...

D&D 5E (2014) We have to kill a deity -Tyranny spoilers!

That would be his avatar, tho. Deities themselves cannot fully manifest themselves on the prime, to my personal knowledge.

D&D 5E (2014) We have to kill a deity -Tyranny spoilers!

If you want to stick to canon, the only deities that he can kill are demipowers. All the rest, a mortal won't be able to slay, unless he uses an immensely powerful artifact, and unless he manages to do that on their native plane. And even then, he'd have to face the deity itself--which alone is...

D&D 5E (2014) How recent was the War of the Silver Marches?

If you mean the one told in the latest Drizzt books, it's extremely recent. Like a few years before the current date (which is 1490+ DR)

D&D 5E (2014) Easter Eggs in Volo's Guide to Monsters

Yeah. There have also been talks about how WotC ran an Undermountain adventure at some con, ending with Halaster's comeback, and about how they would have eventually put that in a bigger AP. Ed also hinted about things going on in the Undermountain, like the Promenade of the Dark Maiden being...

D&D 5E (2014) Easter Eggs in Volo's Guide to Monsters

The Xanathar is also heavily featured in Ed's latest novel, Death Masks, and that novel has a lot of lore tidbits about things that are to come (it had the giant fortress floating above Waterdeep, for example).

D&D 5E (2014) Acererak's Tomb of Horrors is in Chult

I would have too, honestly. Especially because it would come with Halaster's return, from what I've heard. However, I suspect that we will get UM in fall 2017, given how Mearls has said that they want to make the UM adventure that they ran at some con publicly available, and that Ed has said...

D&D 5E (2014) Acererak's Tomb of Horrors is in Chult

At this point, I think that it's safe to say that "Labyrinth" will be a Chult/Mezro-based adventure with a Tomb of Horrors-like dungeon. The hints can't get clearer than this...

D&D 5E (2014) Seriously, why no setting support?

Oh, nvm. You typed Undermountain, so I thought you meant Halaster's dungeon under Waterdeep, not the Underdark.
