    I am Threadkiller

I'll 1) keep this thread alive and 2) join with the others in praising your sig. I seem to remember (must have been around Christmas time) something about a "dire partridge in a treant" that made me laugh every time I saw it. I've had most of my threads fade away as well. Some day I'll come...

Would you leave your life behind?

I already did, to become Mr. Thompson of Terror Lake. Got a lovely houseboat and a yard full of rakes.

    TangleWING bag???

Maybe you just need to change all the dragons in your world into tremendous wusses (who are broke). "You sneeze on the ancient red, his head jerks back, he stumbles and collapses. You find 10 coppers." To original questions: there is no dead dragon, just a very angry one.

Plot hooks with WotC Map o' the Week Mega-map

Well, Ashrem Bayle and Buttercup, it looks like we're the ones most interested. I still think it's a cool idea ;) so thanks for your ideas. Some other hiding spots --buried under 5 feet of ice in the side of a white dragon lair in an iceburg floating in the far south. --djinn in a bottle (so...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

More chairs!! :D Course next year it's a whole new set-up, so there ought to be room, better sound, laser effects, clowns with balloons, etc. The other question is tricky--how to "level" the playing field and do you want to do that by some arbitrary means? Good luck on that one.

    Claudio Pozas rocks!

As I wandered the Exhibit Hall, a Gencon newbie with head a-spinning, I came across the Fiery Dragon booth. Sweet! I picked up the two counter packs and the Gencon special Dragons counter pack, told Klaus what a great job he does, and received my very own custom Pozas sketch of a character...

Eric at GenCon -- the Special Collector's Edition Thread

Wow. Reading that makes me feel like I was there. Oh, right, I was. And everything Friday night was just as cool as Eric says.

    calls to prayer...

We still haven't nailed the real key item--is there an objective reality to the items discussed by religion? Is there a God? What is he like? Heaven and hell? How does one get to each? If there is no absolute reality to these things, then it matters (for eternity) very little what one...

Written Music: how and when did it began ?

Re: I stand corrected Good stuff, but minor nitpick. Cuneiform was written in wet clay, then dried or baked (sometimes unintentionally, as when a city got torched) to make it hard. So no real "carving or chiseling", just pressing a stylus into the soft clay. On topic, a friend has a CD that...

Plot hooks with WotC Map o' the Week Mega-map

Hey, two replies and this thing is still not kicked into Plots and Places. Whoo-hoo! Excellent question, and it gets to the issue of what kind of story you want driving the hunt for these pieces. For example, a epic wizard is using this dungeon to test parties for a job he has in mind. He...

Plot hooks with WotC Map o' the Week Mega-map

WOTC has given us half an adventure--let's make the rest. Currently the map of the week is parts of a giant dungeon map. This lends itself nicely to a plot where PCs will be going to said mega-dungeon, and are trying to get the pieces of the map together before they go. Your cool color...

    Why do you DM?

I DM because --I love creating my own little world (a major factor) --I've got the stuff and the time to prepare a game --I've only got one player, so odds are 50-50 anyway :) Well, the first two matter anyhow.

G'ahhhh! Missed the cut-off for cool, custom badges! (Chorus: We don't need no stinking badges!) But I will be doing my level best to be there Friday night, so add me to the list.

    Who do you play with?

The only reason I'm gaming right now is that I have a good friend who used to play and is willing to play again (and is having fun). With a college in town, I'm sure I could find many players. But I want players I'm very comfortable with for a variety of reasons.
